Remember how the whole Italy bashed Buffon for his post Milan-Juve comments... Buffon godddamn it, you'd think the people would be on the world cup winners side... on current NT captain's side... people may be, but the media is not, they don't give a fuck... they simply hate Juventus.
But this is nothing new. I read a interview with Moggi just after the Milan game where he said even he found it difficult due to the constant media attacks.

It's not about just this incident. How do you act as if you are entitled to win matches? I see it as an entitlement to have capable officials taking charge of games.

I can see why people would lay the blame solely with the team but there is cause and effect from officials that has directly affected our team and season.
That's true, there's no denying that, but there's also no denying that there's an ebb and flow to how these things work. Maybe not during the course of a single game, but certainly during the course of the season.

When you publicly criticize the officials every time a close call doesn't go your way, then it would be hypocritical of you to NOT say "We're sorry the the referee didn't give [insert opposition team] the penalty they deserved against us, we feel really guilty about that, it totally sucks that this happened to them." Unless we plan on doing that, we have to stop whining about those types of calls.

Is this the first time we've whined about things? If it was I'm all for it. But if you're going to be crying wolf every weekend when those calls were nowhere close to being 100% in your favour, then what kind of credibility are you expecting this silcence to command? This behaviour is borderline disgusting because we're acting like we are entitled to win matches.

This, coming on the back off our games with Chievo and Milan when we were absolutely abysmal. Its one thing to be a top scoring team thats been denied a few goals across 2 or 3 weekends. But its completely something else to be average in front of goal and have your own fair share of luck and still whine about it. You lose your cred in the process.

This is the most trivial Silenzo Stampa I've ever seen, being pretty old fashioned myself.
Agreed. Well said.

It's not how it works in Italy though, media plays a ridiculously "huge" role in that Country (sometimes it really reminds me of certain 3rd world countries).

We've been thrown to serie B in 2006 big part thanks to that shity media and how it kept on pressuring for a punishment even though they found out later that there were no clear evidence against us in the first place !

You don't see the fuckers from Milan saying that there were calls going their favor even though there were so many ! That's the way the game is played in Italy so we have to play by it's "shit" rules.

all nice and dandy, but nothing can tell me with a straight face we've been severely hampered by officiating, some calls went our way and others didnt, so goes life. This is just as ridiculous as the rival team fans saying we are favored by refs.

The calls that went against us directly messed with our scudetto opportunities. And there's been quite a few of them.

Stop crying kids. Tell our strikers to start scoring more goals and we wouldn't be in this mess.

So it seems we are in "silenzio stampa".

We are not doing the pre-match press conferances anymore.

I disagree. Silenzio Stampe reminds me of spoiled kids who won't talk to their parents when they don't have something go their way.

Silenzio Stampa is only cool if we actually do it. From the moment you go into Silenzio you need to stay there for the remainder of that season, not give an interview next matchday.

It avoids controversy and allows people to get on with doing their job, instead of giving interviews all the time.
all the time? post game interviews are given in all pro-sports all over the world. it is part of the job. you're presenting and analyzing your performance.

This is the first this season, but last season whenever we didn't get an (obvious) pk we would go into Silenzio Stampa :p
oh ok. yeah, i remember us going into a lot of em.

Go and find a day when a Juve player or official hasn't given an interview or at least a quote to someone in the media.

I think Silenzio Stampa is also a perfectly legitimate tactic to remind the press that there are two sides to the relationship. If they are just going to go out of their way to stir up controversy around Juve, why should Juve co-operate with them?
