I've been doing pretty well in Ligue 1, winning 2 out of the last 3 league championships, the UEFA cup 2 years running, winning the French Cup, and coming second in the Coupe de la Ligue. I've got a huge squad, as I picked up loads of young somewhat-promising players on free transfers, of course few of them turn out good enough, but I've picked up some rather decent players, including Alexandre Coef, france u-21s captain. Of course, having Henri Flory in the squad helps 
I also payed 25 mil € for some 19 year old schotish kid and left him in the premier league for one more season.
As regards to young talents, I get 10 of the best scouts I can and then divide them to scout all plyers under 17 for a year and then buy the best of them, let them play in the primavera for a year or two and when they're 19-20-21, integrate them in the first team.

Have you guys noticed that Diego seems to be really lame in the game? I'm lazy so most of the time I use that "let the assistant pick the team" option and then I make the few changes that need to be made, cause he gets most of it right. But he never chooses to start Diego (choosing Marchisio over him for instance) for some reason. And this is reflected in my game in that he's nowhere as impactful a player as he's supposed to be (I actually had the same experience with Ribery which completely baffled me).
And what's with clubs demanding insane transfer fees? This didn't exist in FM in the past. I go to bid for David Silva who's worth 19m. I bid say 37m thinking that I can offer a sum similar that what he would demand in the real world, and thereby get myself a quick and easy transfer without a lot of haggling. Valencia negotiate the offer to 87m. What the fuck?? I also couldn't even open a negotiation for David Villa despite offering 98m.
