Meaning??

The tabloids went nuts. They were roasting Voller before of the game, and they on the spot changed what they thought of the team. The newspapers read: Jungs, Ihr Seid Klasse!!!
I still can't escape the notion of sad :D

Ive been to amstelveen and a tiny town near rotterdam called helloveotsluis. Loved the windmills and the people. I think its great that almost all of the dutch are gifted with a second language because of the english subtitiling on television.
Amstelveen and Hellevoetsluis? Yet you think our nation is nice?? My goodness... :D

Yeah the subtitles rule

In Malaysia,

* we have mamak shops, something thats REALLY important to us citizens of Malaysia. Personally I think countries that do not have mamak shops are missing on the finer things of life :D

* We tend to boast about our country (often mistook for patriotism) and we've improved, but we've never really looked into the serious problems of our country.

* We're a multi-racial country, and we respect different races and religions. In that aspect I'm very proud to be Malaysian.

* LOTS of poseurs. However you spell it.

* Most Malaysians (90%) are EPL fans. 70% are probably glory hunters.

* Malaysia, though still relatively unknown to some people, is really improving - we have F1 in Sepang, our arts and clubbing scene is doing very well, etc. We're exposing our people to all kinds of things and scenes now

* Every state respects their Sultans, however I feel that the Sultans are just taking advantage of their status and is actually quite useless to their respective states.
no offence sally but i never expected to hear that from a malaysian and i never did until this moment:D

Well its true! When you ask them about Malaysia they'll go "oh Malaysia this, malaysia that" which is correct but they dont try and fix our inner problems, the more important ones.

Actually I'm referring to the Malaysian ministers here but what the hell :D

But I am truly proud of having mamak stalls in Malaysia. It's the best thing in the whole wide world.

In Sweden

1. People are nicer during the summer; huge difference!, it's as if they're bi-polar
2. 15 C is considered HOT
3. We're proud inventers of Volvo, Saab, SAS (partially), Matches,Dynamite, Ericsson
4. Home of IKEA, swedish meatballs, smorgasbord
5. Famous for: tall blue eyed beutiful Blondes, a damn good ice-hockey team, a top contender in football
6. Some big names: ABBA, Ace of Base, The Cardigans, Ingmar Bergman, Peter Forsberg, Mats Sundin, Bjorn Borg, Stefan Hedberg, Ingemar Johansson (boxing), Ingemar Stenmark, Borje Salming, Jan-Ove Waldner...
7. Public transportation is perhaps the best in the world
8. If you live in a small town, which you probably do, you can walk or bike anywhere pretty much!
9. We don't really celebrate our independence day, but we're still patriotic

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

In general of course....this doesn not apply to everyone.

  • The driving system is like the USA and we have a lot of highways.
  • Many don't follow traffic rules (speed limits, driving in your own lane, stop signs..etc), therefore it is chaos for beginers.
  • People are very rude, unless they realize you are a relative of a friend or have ANY distant relationship with them.
  • Our main dish is called "Kabsa" (components: Rich and Chicken) and we eat with our hands.
  • People rarely line-up orderly in a line.
  • Public transportation is terrible. Most people have cars.
  • We either arrive too early or 5 minutes late for meetings.
  • People are very racist and superficial where having a nice car and a cool cell phone is what matters.
  • Except in supermarkets, prices are always negotiable.
  • A lot of places to eat and places to shop.
  • Most families have maids, drivers and more than 2 cars.
  • Everyone from outside of Riyadh hates the city.

In other words, for most of those points, the Islamic teachings of how to deal with people are pretty much disregarded/ignored.

I dont really think that people are rude majed!! Well maybe the non-educated...but we have lots of those:D
And are u sure just 5 minutes?? its more like 30-60 minutes late:fero:

Well it's a long story:

I was born in Kenya, but my parents are from Pakistan, so I'm Pakistani. But I grew up in Sweden, so i consider myself a Swede as well.

You call the weather perfect ? Sure we have our fair share of sun and rain but it can be extremely humid and hot :D But its all good

Fli, a mamak shop is quite hard to explain... First, a 'mamak' refers to an Indian Muslim and most indian muslims in Malaysia (in my area anyway) they open restaurants as their revenue for business. These restaurants sell Indian and Malaysian food, some even Western. It's not a 'classy' restaurant but it's not some damp either, it's a restaurant that fits EVERYONE - kids, teens, adults, grannies, the rich, the poor... Usually these restaurants have big screen TVs for football where people can sip their tea while watching football. Anyway, the restaurants are usually open for 24 hours a day, so these 'restaurants' are not merely restaurants actually.. Does that make sense ? It's a place where people watch football, meet up, hangout and have casual conversations.. sort of a place where everyone is equal and are friends with each other.

Sounds weird I know, but if you do come to Msia, you'd understand. :)

In Solo, Indonesia :

- Solo lies between Mount Lawu (eastern) and Mount Merapi (western)
- People called it "Traditional City" or "The city that never sleep"..whatever, but unlike Jakarta, our city is not big.
- Most people are still living in Javanese culture. Still believe in myths sometimes :wallbang:
- We speak Javanese and Indonesian language.
- Traditional public transportation called "becak"
- Good food and it's cheap.
- We love tea very much (lemon tea after work is my fav :lick: )
- Motorcycle is the fav transportation. Most people have motorcycle at least one.
- We're teach to respect older people.
