Well we were never even remotely in this. Then of course anyone who expected that doesn't know football; the only game we clearly won was against Latvia and only because they self-destructed.

We never deserved to win this one and we didn't so that's only fair even though it hurts.

Advocaat will resign, he stated that prior to this tournament. Furthermore, Stam, De Boer, Davids, Overmars, Van Hooijdonk, Van der Sar and Cocu also announced this was going to be the last tournament for the national team. Van Bronckhorst, Seedorf and Reiziger are also expected to quit.

With an entire generation quitting and a heavily unbalanced squad entering the world cup qualification, this is the last thing you have heard from Holland in a very long time. Because, as always in the history of this small nation, we have highs and lows. '88 was a definite high that was followed by a low. '98 was a high again and that ended tonight with the elimination of Oranje and the resignation of half the squad.

So congratulations to Portugal and goodbye from Holland! :)

I thought he was good. He's always been a favourite of mine, never influenced by the crowd, never afraid to give a decision.

OMG, you are a pessimistic nation... :)
Actually he's right. For me personally, this is the only generation I grew up watching and to see almost all of them quitting like that is quite depressing. That team was the Holland that I've always known, loved, and rued their underachievements.:frown:

ok...but why not to be an optimist? try it...life is easier then :)
that's not true at all, pessimistic people never get disappointed... :undecide:

I wonder how much our NT will lose to Holland and Czech in WC qualification... After all, we got the hardest group of all, again... :fero:
