I personally think Maniche has been Portugal's best player so far, in terms of consistency and effectiveness. Maybe i just don't remember that well, but I'll be surprised if the award doesn't go to Baros (who I think will get it if he scores at least another goal and the Czechs go on to win the tournament... both very likely IMO)

This season, Maniche has always reminded me of Nedved in terms of making those dangerous, beeline shots from 20m+ out. I picked him in my fantasy football squad for yesterday's game suspecting something like that -- but that one had to be one of his best of his entire career.

Still, the MVP award will more likely go to a Baros.
