I say Deschamps will achieve everything Lippi achieved at Juve as a coach.

I'll quote this post of mine when I'm right :D

Just wait and see...

I said it before, DD should start closing up games especially when you're 2-0 up. At least freshen up the squad after 50 or 60 mins. He knows some players r not fit then he should provide some cover or fresh legs.
Legrottaglie did come on for Chiellini at 63rd minute, did he not?
I haven't seen the game, but only reading the comments it really was like Legrottaglie came on and suddenly things when downhill.

I only saw the last 12 or 15 mins, but apparently chiellini had a fitness problem or was injured thats why he was subbed.

my main point is about the midfield.Closing the game starts from there or even just putting some fresh legs there early, a thing that DD doesnt do as his subs r always late.

But with the many absentees, DD did not have one such player on the bench. Someone like Giannichedda should come in and close things down, but he was suspended. The other option would be Marchisio, but he's too offensive for such a role I reckon.

I guess he is a bit offensive, but at least he would have specific instructions about closing down and protecting the backline. Another option would've been pushing piccolo to midfield to act as a cover.

This would take us back to the original selections, am sure there r players from the primavera who could do the job gianni does, so why not add them to the squad to provide more options. Venitucci looked good in the past.

i dont understand this stupid tactician, hes come out and said that hes angry and this shouldnt happen yet he still relies on the defensive crisis as a get out clause... IF THE DEFENCE IS IN CRISIS THEN BUY SOME DEFENDERS!!! he went thrhough the whole of january using that stupid excuse, then he says the team keeps changing its style.... IF YOU CAN SEE THE TEAM IS CHANGING STYLE CHANGE IT BACK, WHY THE HELL DO YOU HAVE A JOB???!!! Dont even get me started on his substitutions as for the whole of the season i cant remember him making one change which has made a difference hes so incapable of making that decision which can change a game.

Some of the blame must rest with the players however because they ease off when we have a 'comfortable' lead and allow our opponents to test our weaknesses, at the same time its DD's job to motivate them in the first place and inform them that a football game lasts 90 minutes.

Players win the first half, coach wins the second...

Yesterday our players proved they are superior and our coach proved he is inferior

I agree with the Didi-part but I still think most of our players should be slapped in the face several times or molested by a really fat hairy fella named Frank. But anyway, good post. Things like these need to be said.

The players have to stop playing the capello way - scoring a goal or two & then sitting back & let the defence take the strain - especially as our defence has been a makeshift one this season. With Kovac. Tudor, Zebina, Boumsong, Giannichedda out & Legro & Chiellini not fully fit, sitting back was the last thing the team should have done!
