Balza-Hes just continuing his awful season isnt he.He even scored an own goal last night. He contributed sh*t to the forwards and his defense was just average.Next game i would even consider putting Biri on the left and piccolo on the right.Hes playing that bad.

Seems you were not paying much attention to the match as Kovac scored the own goal not Balza

Good report Sateeh.

I too was a bit dissapointed by Marchisio and Paro. Both showed flashes of quality, but both were just too uninvolved. Making for a very soft midfield. Though that goes for most of the team, all were lacklustre, too comfortable doing nothing and they looked like lacking the will to fight for any result. I think the talent and quality is there, but we lacked grit and conviction.

well it took me a whole day to calm down and look at the game rationally and here is wat i think.

We played a bad game last night as we have been for a while now, but performances will come as we have alot of injuries and absences.
When we have a full team and play this way then everyone has the right to critisize the team and the coach.

ffs piccolo had his first game of the season and he was out for a long time with injuries. This is how thin this squad is.

Ratings

Gigi-I just hope his injury isnt that bad, as always hes been saving shots left and right and couldn't do nothing about the goal.

Zebina-New position but he did as well as chiellini was doing in that position with the same positioning mistakes, overall he did well and imo was one of the best worth mentioning.

Kovac-Had a better game than his last few games. But still he needs to improve and return to his form last season.

Balza-Hes just continuing his awful season isnt he.He even scored an own goal last night. He contributed sh*t to the forwards and his defense was just average.Next game i would even consider putting Biri on the left and piccolo on the right.Hes playing that bad.

Biri-Should've been covering better in the goal but we've come to accept some mistakes by him but i thought he played well during the game especially during the defensive situations.

piccolo-first game of the season and showed some promising situations and had a fairly good passing game. However i dont think the midfield is his best position. As he looked lost and most times out of position and couldn't provide the best cover to paro and marchisio.

paro&marchisio-Since paro played more games than marchisio and hes older the critiscim will mostly go to him. Most times during the game i saw poor coverage of the midfield between him and marchisio.I always saw them near eachother and they just didnt show themselves enough for the other players which was evident mostly after camo was brought in.
I know both r learning and gaining experience but i saw some things that r just basic steps in the game and both couldn't even do that.

Alex-This game just shows that the captain can't play in the midfield or behind the strikers. Most of our attacks or counter attacks were halted by his inability to produce a killer pass or a even sometimes a proper one instead of just dribbling. The only credit that goes to him is for trying hard all night.Should've been the hero at the end but he ballooned the ball over.

Zala-Invisible in the first half but was better in the 2nd.But the problem with playing him and trezi is that he would be the one who needs to perform some creative touches and hes inable to do that.

Trezi-I dont know why ppl r critisizing him, I dont expect him to run around set up plays and provide nice touches and passes. We just need him to finish the plays that r created for him.The play i saw him trying to finish was some a through pass which he took by himself and was saved by the keeper. When there is proper service and he is missing(like mid of this first half of the season) then we should be critisizing him.

Camo-The other player next to zebina thats worth mentioning as our best player.Came in and provided another dimension to the team and just didnt stop running.

DD-I dont know what was he thinking after the goal was scored against us really. He put in camo and then what ?Everything will just be alrite? It was evident that there was a problem in the midfield. And there wasnt a solution introduced, the thing that infuriated me is that he didnt even try but getting De Ceglie or Venitucci or anyone in from the bench.

Anyway a loss is good for the whole team.Shows them that this isnt a joy ride and that things will not "just be alrite".Gives the youngs ones some experience on how to deal with defeat.
good analysis Sateeh,
i had the chance to watch the game just right now:D
i ve first red all the comments here and already had an idea about what i was going to watch
so i cant be really objective,
I agree with your comments and i would further add a few more from my point of view:
-It wasnt an offside or own goal, Mantova scored a legal goal and played a good game overall, congrats to them, they werent overdetermined or suspiciously motivated against us,
they just used the space we gave them,
-IMO we entered with the wrong mentality, it was a collective error,
the managers and not only the coach are to blamed for
-we lacked motivation, determination, concentration, squad depth and luck
-it was a matter of time our long injury list would cost us and here it is!
i hope Buffon wont be added too in that list, did anyone heard of any fresh news/announcements about that?
-Balza isnt the same he used to be last year, but he wasnt thaat bad
-Paro maybe be admired for his Pirlo like offensive abilities but he lacks serious defensive skills, he cant handle the defensive part of the midfield alone,
without the support of a specialised player,
(i ve always reapeating this thing and it gets really obvious when he is not paired with Zanetti or even Gianni ;-) ),
this is what EMO was able to offer to our team and half of the forum failed to understand:cool:
-DD isnt a high profile coach, not more or less,
he loves the team alright, he has an insight but he isnt as open minded as some of you present him to be
- i dont know whats wrong with Bojinov but there is smth there for sure,
i cant think of any reason that would have kept him on the bench today,
i dont think DD in that dump, there is smth else,
orders from "above" maybe
- it wasnt the worst game of the season and esp considering the circumstances...
but we should have done better, after the Milan game i thought we wouldnt have any determination problems right now, but here they are...

DD should play with 3 forwards but with Del Piero on the flank , not behind the strikers. I think i'll watch the next game on Tuesday I think LIVE, finalllly.

he sucks big time , i was not convinced since i heard his name as juve coach , juve were pathatic in this game and deserved to loose , in fact we were pathetic in all the games in which we played so far in Serie B , lets stop talking about Serie A cause i am not sure any more about promotion.
I think It's harsh to criticize Didier this way. Sure he has done some mistakes last two matches, but hey everyone make mistakes.

Lets also not forget that it's really not his fault players are getting injured, he can't stick to one formation for more than two games. Every-week he has a problem with his formation, and this also leads to changing tactics.

Still a long way ahead of us, we better learn now before It's too late.

You really are an ass, you know that.
Thanks for the insult, again you proved my point about you.

The performance yesterday was awful, and Del Piero played his part in it. One could only call him man of the match, because the rest played even more poor. Even then he wasn't even our best player. We had a lot of promising looking counterattacks, especially in the first half, but then Del Piero everytime decided to go on a solo and let the entire Mantova team get back. Paro, Marchisio, Zalayeta and Trezeguet were all wide open when the counterattack started, but DP decided to do it alone each time with no succes. He was indecisive and slow. Not to mention that howler of a miss in the final minute.
Del Piero didn't play his part of the awful game like you're trying to call it. He was our only player that was able to attack though his position doesn't allow him that much, yet he managed to threaten Mantova's goalkeeper.

Thats Del Piero's style, he's not Roberto Carlos nor Marc Overmars, he thinks before running with the ball, his passes are always decent, he waits for the wingers to show up unlike other players who really like to make a show each time they recieve the ball. Wether you like it or not, every single attack we had in this game came from him.

Practice the game more Dominic, before you judge players.

He's your man of the match every game so that isn't saying much.
He's not only my man of the match, read how many posters do agree with me. It's not the first time they all praise him but then you log in to bash him for no reasons. So try to get over it.

My hate for Del Piero ?! Why are you making stuff up?
C'mon, don't play an angel role here;), If I'd have enough time in my hands, I'd be diggin your silly posts towards him, when you criticize him for no reasons and bash him when he's doing good.

My commentator agreed with me, what does that tell you?(it means nothing at all, if you can figure it out..) Maybe Del Piero was the motor, but a disfunctional one.
It means that many do agree with me, while I don't see lot of people agreein with you(probably only lil zlatans fans). You tell me what does that tell you???

Learn how to argue, and most important learn your football before you Insult. Practice the game like I said, I'm sure by time you'll advance.

Irony to it's fullest. You ALWAYS say Del Piero plays a great, even if he doesn't play. If you're the least bit of a true fan, you will also have the guts to point out when he does shit.
Is that a sign that you ran out of words???

It's easy Dominic, go to match section, dig up prev games we had, and see my comments about Ale when he was out of form.

Certainly that Del Piero was the best in this game.. that know everyone who watched the game and every report said that, so it's stupid that someone can bash Del Piero without any reason

I have a general question for all the people who are able to see most matches of juve this season.
Do we have a clear tactic? somehow I feel that we never really have a game plan (I saw 3 matchs this season). just like the time of capello. this is making me really nervous.. I don´t have the feeling that the teams display is improving...

Please discuss

thank you for bringing this up...because as I read all these pages, seeing people justify this loss because players are missing, I started to think back to our games in the last few months, when we had a full squad, and I cannot remember one game that we dominated any opponent

We supposedly have the strongest squad....but have we really showed that ?? We have struggled in every game, even against very inferior opponents (on paper), who came out and played their asses off, and made things close.

I said before that there is some very strong teams in Serie B (Genoa, Napoli, Bologna), better than average teams (Bari, Piacenza, Mantova, Cesena), and teams that could throw some surprises at us (Albinoleffe, Rimini, Frosinone), so no doubt that this is the strongest Serie B in a long while

With all this in mind, what is DD's gameplan ?? Does he have one ??

Does he actually believe that players like Paro, Marchisio, and Zalayeta are going to bring us back to the promised land ?? With what I've seen so far, I am not convinced. If we wait on the youngsters to improve, and come around, we may be waiting another season in Serie B...despite what anyone here thinks

I think we need some help NOW, before the transfer market closes....and for those who think it isnt fair to the youngsters, let me ask you this...

do you think that any of these guys will be starters next year if Juve makes it back to Serie A ???

The answer is pretty easy....NO !!

I am not sure about these youngsters also, so far Paro seems to me a player we can rotate in serie a for the "easy" games, and Palladino can be our 4th? 5th? forward..

We do need players, but don't forget the good players won't come and play for us in serie B, unless we pay lots of money, which is a problem for us..

we are goint to serie A next season, we are not that bad. after all we are leading with five or six points? if you take off the deduction. no need to panic..

Palladino should be our 3rd striker, assuming Trezeguet stays and Bojinov goes...and it seems that even when Bojinov is here, he's the third in line. Paro would be better if he had someone more commanding and aggressive next to him. Marchisio needs to improve before we could play him in Serie A.

On the subject of having a plan...whatever plan DD comes up with now won't be much good come next fall if we're really going to make as many signings as the board claims. So far we've been doing reasonably well, not great, not terrible all the time either.

yeah, but if DD is not able to form a strong team for serie B, how will be the situation in A??

Good point Vin.

I think between all these you youngsters, I'd only pick Paro so far. He's a hard-worker midfielder with some talent in him. Others are yet to convince me.

Btw, Balza's performance isn't like last year, he's been awful from the games I've seen. I think our best defender so far has been Chiellini.

Looking at Palladino's perfomance last 2 or 3games, I'd put him as a starter. After-all Trezeguet isn't doing any better. I know Trezeguet is a world-class finisher, but when you have someone who's invisible most of the times and you keep him on the pitch because he can score at any-moment, I believe Didier is gambling over there.

Thanks for the insult, again you proved my point about you.
What point? I stooped down to your level. You might not have used the words, but your arrogant and condescending attitude and remarks are just as insulting.

Del Piero didn't play his part of the awful game like you're trying to call it. He was our only player that was able to attack though his position doesn't allow him that much, yet he managed to threaten Mantova's goalkeeper.
His postion allowed him to create offensive moves, while obviously he didn't succeed in that. We got our first real chance after an hour. He himself managed to get one chance in the final minute in the game, which he again gloriously missed.

I hope it's not his style, because i've seen Del Piero do much much better in the past. Del Piero has a good throughball, but if he OVERthinks his passing, he won't even be able to use it. Such a waste. I don't rate Roberto Carlos nor do I Marc Overmars, by the way.

Practice the game more Dominic, before you judge players.
Thank you for your wise lesson .

He's not only my man of the match, read how many posters do agree with me. It's not the first time they all praise him but then you log in to bash him for no reasons. So try to get over it.
That is bullshit. I always try to give a fair opinion, I never 'bash' him. I Especially don't do so for no reason.

C'mon, don't play an angel role here;), If I'd have enough time in my hands, I'd be diggin your silly posts towards him, when you criticize him for no reasons and bash him when he's doing good.
I might've made a silly joke at his expense in the past. I never bash him or attack him for no reason. That's the defence you always put up, when some has a point of criticisme towards Del Piero; " Del Piero hater, Zlatan lover".

It means that many do agree with me, while I don't see lot of people agreein with you(probably only lil zlatans fans). You tell me what does that tell you???

Oh yes, posting the howler smiley is some great arguement.
And fuck off with your arrogance.

The answer is pretty easy....NO !!
:agree:

We should at least see some indication of what style DD wants the team to play, there is little evidence so far. We are incapable of controlling games and let the opposition have the initiative, we struggle to break down poor teams(When was the last time we scored in the 1st half for example?) and as I've already mentioned, Deschamps can't change the way the team is playing with subs or otherwise.
