The town of Vicenza is situated in the northeast of Italy. It is surrounded by Verona, Venezia, Padova, and Treviso. So playing against those teams is considered a derby for them, and you could maybe add to that Udinese as well.
Vicenza play at the Stadio Romeo Menti which holds a capacity of approx 19,000-20,000.
Without looking up anything on the net, the first thing that comes to my living memory about Vicenza is their Coppa Italia triumph against Napoli. While some may say that year was the epitome of how underrated the Coppa Italia is by the big teams...for the Vicenza fans, it's an honorable achievement by one of Calcio's shrewdest managers ever: Francesco Guidolin.
I remember from that roster, they had amazing players such as Viviani, Marcelo Otero, Lamberto Zauli, Firmani, Sartor...and a very underrated keeper in Italy at the time Luca Mondini. (ok so Peruzzi, Toldo, Pags, were all class at the time so who could complain)
They backed up their impressive achievement with a good run in the Cup Winners' Cup (also deemed a pointless competition, but hey, the likes of Barca and Chelsea won it back then...the irony)
Soon they got relegated..........they came back up, introduced a certain Luca Toni...but his handful of goals didn't convince Moggi at the time (Juve were linked to him, and were very close to snapping him up

).......and they couldn't keep Vicenza in the Serie A that season.
From then on it's been a frustrating story for Vicenza fans, as they've often languished in the bottom rungs of the Serie B table, flirting with relegation - the only thing saving them was the demotion of Genoa to C due to their alleged match-fixing a couple seasons back.
Vicenza finished last season just a point above Rimini in 16th place. The season before that, 17th!
The team is currently coached by a man from Turin, Giancarlo Camolese (has been with them since last season when they finished 16th).
You might remember Camolese, as the ex-coach of Reggina.
Their top scorer last year was Parauayan
Julio Valentín Ferreira González (Asuncion, Paraguay, 26 August, 1981) with 8 (?) goals in Serie B last season, in only 15 appearances!
Unfortunately, the Paraguayan star was involved in a terrible car accident resulting in the amputation of his left arm. :depressed It's still unknown whether he will return to football or not. Apparently he participated in Vicenza's pre-season this year.
A certain Benito Carbone also played with Vicenza last season. However, he only scored a few goals (around 5, in 35 games!) and didn't settle too well in Vicenza (the town) and decided to fly off with his family to Australia, despite the pleads of Camolese.
Vicenza's 2006/2007 Roster:

One of the familiar names in there is former Juventino Francesco Scardina. I believe they bought him from Crotone...not sure if it's on co-ownership or full...or even if Juve still co-own. lol
Vicenza's probable formation for next week is (I could be way off) :
Guardalben
Fissore
Scardina
Trevisan
Nastos
Padoin
Helguera
Raimondi
Rigoni
Sgrigna
Schwoch
I bolded Stefan Schwoch as he's the team veteran who's been around for 5 or 6 years. He is the team captain...and as a cliche used in a previous thread...he's the man who enjoys a CULT status with the home fans.
Official Rhizoid prediction: Juventus 2-0 Vicenza
[EDIT - Just added the Benito Carbone info as well...thought that might be a good FYI for those wondering whatever happened to him]
