Juventus Coach Didier Deschamps believes his men could have won against Cesena, but was pleased with the 2-2 draw.
The Bianconeri scored two goals in two minutes with David Trezeguet and Pavel Nedved, but were held to a draw by the home side, seeing their lead over second-placed Genoa cut to six points.
“We were aware that this isn’t an easy place to play,
I think we won an important point,”

said Deschamps after the match.
“We lost the ball a few times, whereas they were very dangerous and fast. However, I think we could have won had we been more careful and focused,” added the Frenchman.
“The situation hasn’t changed, aside from the fact that Genoa have now leapfrogged Napoli and are in second place.”
The tactician also defended Nedved, who was accused of celebrating his goal too close to the Cesena bench, causing Coach Fabrizio Castori’s furious reaction.
“He is very competitive, it’s incredible, but I like him the way he is, he is a driving force for the team.
“What will happen next year? I must confirm what I have already stated in the past, I think it’s utopia to
believe that we will immediately compete for the Scudetto.
“I wish it could happen but at the time being it wouldn’t be normal,” concluded Deschamps.
