however u look at it be it playing zala, palla,dp,boji on the wing, it wud still end up basically playing a 4-3-3 and wudnt of solved our exposure.

for the last time, zala, palla etc... arnt defensive strikers that play as wingers we had no defensive mifielders, to of no fault of didi's thats the end of it :)

marchisio is not a defensive mid, hes more of a creative one

nedved - is not a defensive player either

nor his m&m

ok :)

be it playing a 4-4-2 or a 4-4 f*cking 4 or a 4-3-3 we had no defensive players to provide cover for the back line and wud have still conceded.

now if u still dont understand me, i too happen to live in birmingham and we can both meet up over a cup of coffee and i will tell u by words what im flaming on about :)
lol look i completely get what your saying but i just think in the circumstances the 4-3-3 just gave the team a little more uncertainty in relation to the more traditional 4-4-2 that the players know inside out, although we would still more than likely have conceded i think it would have tightened things up a little bit!

in which case it will have to be the coffee!! :)

chie was only on the bench so he could be rested as hes started almost all of our matches this season, it was just rotation because DD seems to refuse to put balza at right back where he walways does a good job unlike biri.

and the formation which i though did not have holding players because we didnt have any, im sorry i cant magic one ;). its more stable simply because there are more bodys, it would just require instructions to the midfield informing them not to get too far forward / asking marchisio to stay deeper, it would also fill a few gaps left in the 4-3-3 system.

i cant comment on bianco or venitucci as i havent seen them play so no very little about the roles they occupy but i still feel the formation quoted by me and vinman would have been a lot better option

i dont get your point, palla was not that badly hurt he could have played and wiith the formation we played we had no defensive cover, pileing the midfield would have provided MORE than a 4-3-3 did
Balza was playing for most of the season as well, imo it was a tactical decision as Balza was better on that left full back position this season than Giorgio.
DD placed balza on the right a couple of times if am not mistaken, i guess he didn't impress him or he does like putting a left footed player on the right.

the only difference between the formation you put out and the one that played was that the midfield players were more on the wing, which makes our center completely exposed imo. In a 433 formation the midfield players should be more in the center than on the wing imo.And thats what DD put out there, and those were our most creative players on the night bar Alex.

Abt the holding players, i only mentioned that because DD started with Venitucci before and he did well.I dont know why he doesn't use him again.
