Press conference : Didier Deschamps

Deschamps was still visibly upset as he gave his pre-match press conference at the Olimpico this afternoon, following on from the team’s training session there ahead of tomorrow’s away trip to Bologna. The coach was asked whether the tragedy of Friday night has affected his side’s concentration: “Despite carrying out our preparations for the match - replied the Frenchman - it’s normal that we think of the grief the families of these two boys are going through; we’ve all been struck to the heart by this tragedy, these have been difficult days. In moments like this, football counts for very little”. The journalists then turned their attention to football, and the clash with Bologna: “In my opinion they are better than both Napoli and Genoa. Tomorrow’s game is certainly a real head-to-head, although I don’t know whether it will give us any concrete indications for the future; it will be more an evaluation of the form these two teams are in at the moment. Bologna are well-organised, they have experienced players capable of making a difference, they’re in good shape mentally and their results are there for all to see. It’s a team that’s confident in its own abilities and the fact there’s going to be a sell-out crowd tomorrow will give them an added boost. Bellucci is in great form, it’s not for nothing he’s the leading scorer in Serie B; we need to keep him under control throughout as he has good movement, an accurate shot and he’s very quick”. And how are Juventus from a physical point of view? “This weekend we did our best to work hard, despite everything that’s happened. Trezeguet is available, although he’s still not quite 100%, the same story as Friday night. Del Piero is in a better condition than him because he’s played at least half an hour. With the game called-off on Friday, Zebina has had more time than predicted to recover his strength”. And Chiellini, who was set to play at centre back on Friday? “Friday night’s choice was down to an ankle problem with Kovac, but it’s a valid solution never the less. Chiellini has the right qualities to be a centre back, even if he’s played more as a full back up until now. Having a left-footer at the back also helps when taking the ball out of defence”.juventus.com

na i still think he will start trez just because its bologna were playing. either that or he'll start bojinov because as we all know zalayeta is coming off injury and isn't match fit.......
Zalayeta IS match fit, he played almost the whole match against Verona.

I tire of seeing people predicting 3-0 or 4-0 victories for us.
:D

Exactly, my point too, people are always expecting thrashing teams, and eventually we end the game by 1-0. :D

did u see the game against verona? he was terrible. you need at least 2 or 3 games after injury to get back in the flow of things. so no i dont think he is fully match fit.
I don´t care how bad he was, that´s his problem, all I´m saying that he can play for 90 minutes.

Anyway it is up to Deschamps to decide who will play, not me.

Peace.

zalayeta is very rarely not terrible. the only thing that disapoints me with dd is picking him over bojinov. i don't care how young he is, bojinov is better than zalayeta any time of the week.

The lineup for the Cesena game was supposed to be: Buffon; Birindelli, Boumsong, Chiellini, Balzaretti; Camoranesi, Zanetti, Paro, Palladino; Zalayeta, Del Piero.

The reason for not playing Kovac was because he didn't speak Italian. :| That's almost as good as playing Kovac instead of Thuram because he passes the ball better to the strikers.

boumsong knows italian? what does it even have to do with the match?? even so how many years has kovac been playing in italy and he doesnt know any italian?

he's here almost a year and a half and that is strange as he really should have picked up on the language by now.

Bojinov doesn´t fit in DD plans and I don´t know why.

He maybe didn´t impress DD, but he sure impressed me with 6 goals from minimum playing time, even if he plays pretty poor he can offer the most important thing - goals.

Kovač is in Italy for year and a half.

So, guys, it has nothing to do with Kovac's language...

I would expect Juventus to beat Bologna in Serie A and i would expect the same to happen in Serie B, regardless of Bologna's high flying exploits. Juventus 3 - 0.

Juve, world record
Bianconeri haven’t lost in 2006, an achievement with no equals in the world. But Bologna are ready to strike this evening.
