From what i read we're ready to offer him a new contract and Pavel has said similar things about retirement many times. Even with the Czech NT he retired after euro 2004, just to come back for the WC 2006. He never sounded as serious as he does now, but he has a history of changing his mind about retirement and who knows, he might pull a Maldini and say after the match with Lazio that he'll continue playing for 1 more season.
