That's the problem, we have several players that don't set the pitch on fire and getting their job done means they should only appear.
For me,enough of Poulsens Tiagos and Almirones if you know what I mean.
In a team of underperforming individuals, I was more than happy to have someone who could get the job done. I'd have taken Poulsen over Melo any day of the week during the first half of the season. Now that Melo is becoming dependable again, I'd like to have a decent reliable player in the form of Poulsen as backup.
I wouldn't put Poulsen in the same league as Tiago and Almiron. Where as Poulsen has been decent for a number of games, the other two have been nothing but flops.

It could be put that way too iceman, except I wouldn't consider Poulsen over Melo during the first half of the season, and Ferrara even didn't use Melo properly giving him inappropriate task.

Oh man, here I go again. :D

Ferrara might have put Melo in the wrong position, but the things Melo was doing wrong had nothing to do with his position on the field. Missing simple passes, taking free kicks too quickly which hits the player in front of him, absolutely retarded decisions in our penalty box, trying to run through half the opposition etc. etc. He might have been wrongly nominated for the trash can award (I don't know what its called :p) but by the time they announced the result, he genuinely deserved it (Well, almost. Quaresma should have won it). When Poulsen was given a chance to play, he did all the basics right. Except his stupid tendency to put in long balls to the striker.

We need a win and we need goals so I'm going out on the limb here:

Buffon

Caceres(Zdenek)-Cannavaro(Legro)-Chiellini-Grosso(DC)

Candreva-Melo(Sali)

Giovinco-Diego-Del Piero(Yago)

Paolucci(Immobile/Amauri)

~Before you know-it-alls bash my lineup, hear me out:

1.) I want to see my wingbacks push forward and work off the AMs.
2.) I want to see Candreva sit back and collect the ball from Melo and see how well he can orchestrate an attack with 3 AMs to feed off him. (regista style)
3.) It's time Giovinco plays a damn game.
4.) I know its risky playing youth, but we are playing Livorno so IMO the risk is not all that bad as long as we are able to control the game like we did against Lazio.
5.) Melo played well and as long as Candreva is feeding off him and getting available then Melo has a nice short option to someone who can get the ball and control it nicely with confidence.
6.) When needed DP can push up to opt as a second striker.
7.) I would like to see Yago and Immobile in this game if possible as subs.
I second this, tough I'd prefer DC ahead of Grosso (DC was quite good against Lazio, while Grosso has been abysmal so far) Amauri up front, he played much better against Lazio, plus if we're playing a lone striker, we could use some muscle up front.

Excuse me? How would you know SAB? :depressed

Yeah, I was thinking of DC in mid if they needed him with the shortage of them right now. I would have rather had DC at LB but we may need him in the mid. Depends on a lot, but I agree I would rather him at LB with the way he played yesterday.

Well, you've been giving me the cold shoulder all day. I need attention too, Irish.
The first post above is the only reason you aren't getting the silent treatment.

Maybe the pressure was heavy because he was paid 25 mil,and the expectations were high ,although he played few great games from the start.
Yes,he made some mistakes that's true, giving the ball away damn often(I remember-it started with the Palermo's first goal against us).
But he as a figure impresses me much much more than Poulsen in the field (don't get me wrong I have nothing against Poulsen).
Thank God Melo is getting into shape because we need him.
