Juventus (probable): Buffon; Salihamidzic, Grygera, Criscito, Molinaro; Marchionni, C Zanetti, Almiron, Palladino; Del Piero, Trezeguet
Empoli
Gigi Cagni is without Antonio Busce, who was extremely impressive during the recent win over Milan.
Juventus loan stars Sebastian Giovinco and Claudio Marchisio, who are regarded as two of the most promising young players in Italy, may be given the chance to impress from the start against their owners. Luca Saudati will lead the line up-front by himself again.
Empoli (probable): Balli; Raggi, Piccolo, Marzoratti; Tosto, Marchisio, Moro, Giacomazzi, Giovinco; Vannucchi; Saudati
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Alessandro Del Piero (Juventus)
The Golden Boy has burst back into form since signing his new contract with the club two weeks ago and will certainly be the player to watch in a depleted Juventus line-up. Del Piero is a strong bet to score for the third game in succession.
Sebastian Giovinco (Empoli)
The 20-year-old wonderkid is a star of the future and has recently been tagged as the 'Italian Lionel Messi’. The Azzurrini star has been barely used by Gigi Cagni this season and has been restricted mainly to cameo performances as a substitute. He is likely to start on Wednesday and he will be a real handful to the second-string Juventus defence.
