Olivera is not available for this game......
From football Italia

Juventus (probable): Buffon, Birindelli, Thuram, Cannavaro, Zambrotta, Camoranesi, Tacchinardi, Emerson, Olivera, Ibrahimovic, Trezeguet

Sampdoria (probable): Antonioli, Zenoni, Castellani, Falcone, Pisano, Diana, Palombo, Volpi, Tonetto, Flachi, Rossini

Ref:_To follow...

So, how can Football Italia and goal.com be wrong at the same time, Olivera will certainly play.

If you would've actually READ football Italia's preview:

++ [ originally posted by channel4's football Italia] ++

Fabio Capello welcomes Manuele Blasi back from suspension but the
tactician will be without three key players. Ruben Olivera , star of the show against Atalanta on Sunday, and Jonathan Zebina are suspended . Pavel Nedved is still out for a couple of weeks with his knee injury, although Gianluca Pessotto is more hopeful for a return.

Olivera is suspended, and Football Italia's probable line-ups aren't usually the ones that end up being used in the game because they post their previews three or four days prior to the match and probable line-ups can change very quickly.

This is the latest probable line-up from Gazzetta.it, the site where Football Italia and Goal.com get their probable line-ups from:

1 Buffon
15 Birindelli
21 Thuram
28 Cannavaro
7 Pessotto
16 Camoranesi
8 Emerson
3 Tacchinardi
19 Zambrotta
17 Trezeguet
10 Del Piero

dont believe in everything u read.. i dont think Capello Is gonna use dp from start just because he scored a penalty...

BUT imo he should use him as a left winger, now that olivera is ban and nedved is out...

-------trez-zlatan

btw.... lol had no clue that the games was gonna be playd this wed. that means tomorow..

Week 22 - 2/2/05
Bologna - Parma Thu
Fiorentina - Palermo Wed
Inter - Atalanta Wed
Juventus - Sampdoria Wed Forza Juventus
Lazio - Brescia Wed
Lecce - Roma Wed
Livorno - Reggina Wed
Messina - Milan Wed Forza Messina
Siena - Cagliari Wed
Udinese - Chievo Wed
Capello isn't going to start Del Piero because he scored a penalty, he's going to start him because if you include the Atalanta game, we have three games to play in the space of seven days. Early on in the season Cap applied the rotation system when we had midweek games and see him doing so again. DP should start this one, and if he does well enough, then play him from the beginning again on the weekend, if not, back to Trezlatan.

Yep. A smart coach is going to rotate players in these situations.

I don't want to jinx it, but in terms of appearances, Canna has been our strongman of the season, IMO! :thumb:

Switch Biri to RB and Pesso to LB and yeah, that's it. Personally I'd drop either Birindelli or Pessotto for Kapo and let Zambrotta operate from his usual position. I want to see what Kapo has to offer, though playing Zamb on the wing could be successful seeing as he is good at beating his marker and getting in good crosses.

Exactly, he can't play the same starting XI for the whole season. When we've got midweek games flanked by league matches players like Birindelli, Pessotto, Tacchinardi and Del Piero should get some extra minutes.

please don't tell me this is another case of "Because he's loyal and has been here longer". The reason Tacchinardi's performance looked polished against Atalanta is because he was alongside Emerson, whilst IMO Blasi is a great player in his own right. If Tacchinardi played next to say, Appiah, I'm sure he wouldn't be getting the rave reviews he did after the Atalanta match. I'm sorry but I think the general concensus is that Blasi is the better player.
but tacchinardi gives the better all around team performance...he synchronising well with Emerson suppose to be a good thing you know....this is a team sport after all.... let just hope no one in our team have to do the most depressing of job in partnering Stephan Appiah ever again :scared:

Why do you hate that? Mutu is obviously only having a bit of fun with his new sqaud. So far he looks like he is fitting in nicely.

For this match I would use the same system as we have been, simply because Sampdoria is very good team and we should not "experiment" in this match. Olivera and Zebina are suspended, so we will again have to make changes.

Buffon

Birindelli - Thuram - Cannavaro - Zambrotta

Camoranesi - Emerson - Blasi - Kapo

Trezeguet - Ibrahimovic

Note: I highly doubt that Capello will use Del Piero in this match. Since Sampdoria is not a club to take lightly he will field the strongest team available, and will probably stick with the prefered pairing up front. However, he might give in and play Del Piero after he scored over the weekend, but I doubt it.
