First Half
The game started at a lightning quick pace and Miccoli was unlucky not to open the scoring within the first minute as his effort beat the keeper but was cleared off the line. Roby Baggio's cheeky pass to Caracciolo caught Ferrara and co by surprise in the third minute and the Juventus captain bundled over Caracciolo but thankfully Baggio's poor penalty was easily saved by Buffon. Trezeguet did well to set up Nedved's wonder strike after some good running by Zambrotta and was hard done by the referee's assistant when his perfectly legit goal was disallowed for offside. Brescia then got back into the game and started to control the ball and to dictate the pace and tempo. However, the visitors couldn't make their pressure count and Trezeguet made sure that Juve would go into the dressing room at half time in a comfortable position when he headed home Camoranesi's precise cross.

Second Half
At the dawn of the second half Igor Tudor replaced Camoranesi and Brescia's Filippini had to be stretchered off and Matteo Brighi took over from him. The visitors never really troubled Gigi Buffon's net, mainly because Tudor, Ferrara and Montero were very alert. The Brescia keeper, Saja, thwarted Miccoli's efforts but it didn't matter because Juve were more than content to play at a snail's pace and just wait for the final whistle. Alessandro Birindelli and Enzo Maresca were given short run-outs while David Trezeguet troubled Saja with another powerful header. The game finished with Miccoli's left footed drive being saved by Saja.

Well the match well went for us as expected with a comfortable win against Baggio's Brescia .. I was surprised to see us play with our 3rd Dark Purple kit, we looked like a bunch of referees running around :D

Anyway, as the match progressed I regreted that Zambro admittion that he dived in the last match Paparesta officiated .. he was harsh on Ferrara's penalty and also cancelled a legit goal for Treze not to mention the numerous fouls that were awarded to the opposition ..

Here is my comment on the Juve players:

Buffon Best match of the season? Gigi returned to his old self and saved a penalty from Baggio and kept his net clear of any goals .. He also improved in crosses and looked much more confident

Thuram Slowing improving but still nowhere near the Thuram of the past seasons. I wonder what happened to Lilian during the summer ?!

Ferrara I expected him to be rusty in this match but I'm glad he proved me wrong. The penalty awarded agaisnt him was pretty harsh to say the least as the contact appeared to be minimal during replays.

Montero His partnership with Ferrara reminded us of last season and produced a clean sheet. Food for thought !!

Zambrotta A manly and professioal performance but no dive from Zambro this time :D Anyway, his no non-sense approach in the back have made him a better defender ..

Camoranesi I hope he doesn't get alot of critisicm because he infact lost alot of balls in midfield, but lets not forget that he also crossed the ball for Treze for the second goal

Appiah Continued with where he left off during the past matches with another impressive performance. He's proving to be Serie A's best signing for this season ..

Davids Easily fended off opponents with amazing runs but missed the final touch or pass .. without Tacchi in midfield we did look disorganized even after Tudor was introduced, who was good at recovering balls but not as good when organizing attacks from midfield ..

Nedved Even though there wasn't much space left by the Brescia defenders and midfielders, Neddy found his way through and scored a world-class goal .. Definetely Player of the Year !!

Miccoli Didn't do much unless you count scaring the life out of Brescia defenders everytime he had the ball .. Miccoli was very lively and obviously deserved to score from the numerous chances he had .. Not to forget the classy back-heel flick that would've made Maradona proud ..

Trezeguet was very clinical as he scored goals and was dangerous everytime he had the ball ..

EDIT: I would just like to mention the squad's depth that was apparent through Lippis susbstitutions, check this:

With 1 substitution Lippi was able to rotate players in 3 different positions;

1) Birindelli came in for Davids. He took Zambro's position as leftback.

2) Zambro took Appiah's position on the right of midfield.

3) Appiah took Davids's position on the left of midfield.

All of this happened in one instance of the match !!

Since today, Ottaviani International srl di Recanati (a company that produces silver stuff) is giving a Man of The Match award to the best juventus player in every match. Today's winner was Pavel Nedved and he won a creation in Ottaviani silver. At the end of the season, a Man of the Year award will be given

...sorry for Baggio in his last trip to Turin in his career......... he will always have a special place in a juventino's heart........but great result , specially since we didn't make things uncomfortable at the end.. a good all-round performance from Juventus.....
...... and to those who said Juventus were always given penalties and so on.............this season:

JUVENTUS vs. MILAN (Italian Supercup)
Milan given a penalty a minute from time at the end of a half of extra-time.
JUVENTUS vs. CHIEVO
Chievo awarded a dubious penalty.
JUVENTUS vs BOLOGNA
Bologna given a penalty when score was 1-0 to Juve.
JUVENTUS vs. BRESCIA
Brescia given a penalty (dubious one) after only 5 minutes.

GREAT GAME! Man of the Match IMO, was LIPPI!
His rotation system is pure CLASS! And his substitutions today were precise to the exact second. Very well played game by juve. Appiah looked a little weaker though against his old side, i guess he was a little shy. MIccoli is amazing and nedveds goal was the type of goal you see in the Serie A promo videos. Any ways, i gotta go on with my essay...

First of all what the hell where we wearing today? In fact I was just about to change channels as I thought they were showing highlights of serie b before i caught the grey hair of Baggio before I realised it was Juve vs Brescia they were showing
I didnt see the game but saw the highlights but maybe its just me but I would just like to see Ferrara and Montero but more of Ferrara reduced to matches against modest oppostion like Brescia as he is very slow and rightly or wrongly he should never be caught at the wrong side of the forward

Buffon seems to be much better saving penalties than saving freekicks but in truth it was a very lame attempt by Baggio who must be close to 100 pens in his career

Great goal by Nedved with a very clever assist by Trez who also seemd to have a perfectly legitimate goal disallowed , then scores a good header

It was Baggio's 82nd penalty, 68 of which he converted.

Appiah's first match as central midfielder instead of Tacchinardi was a success....I wish we could see more of him in that position.

Good match overall, now against Milan a draw will be good enough.

Are you sure it is 82 even if thats a lot imo but Sagha 2 seasons ago alluded that it was 78 or something and that guy loves Baggio to death and Baggio has had more than 10 awarded to Brescia while he is playing since then

As for Milan that match should be billed as the super match as no other description will do, not liking that Sheva scored 2 goals this weekend

Also i am reading conflictin reports as to how we performed in midfield, Zizou says Appiah was good in the middle, Dpf says we were disjointed without Tacchinardi and Hyde says Davids was excellent
I am of the opinion that without Tacchinardi we are more dynamic and definitely quicker but maybe passing is a bit poorer but that could be remedied by introducing Maresca

82 with 68 converted in serie A I think is right, maybe goes to 100 considering cups and NT... I don't know...
 awarded  in Brescia?

The jersey of today sucked so mutch... I really don't understant why we cannot use the bianconeri one at list in home?

The match... well everything was said already... a very good match! Schame that also Milan won cause it was mentaly better to play with tham having more points... let's see next sunday. Anycase Juve is winning impressly... nearly always... and usually this period isn't so happy 4 us... IMO we are unstoppable!
Nedved goal: Amazing, this guy is so grate! :thumb:

P.S.:Appiah played well esepecially in the second half IMO.
And we also have to consider that that was not his natural role, cause he is most a central.

I'm sure cos on 90 minuto during the highlights they remarked how it was Baggio's 82nd penalty in Serie A (68 of which he scored). Maybe Sagha meant in total (including European Cups).

Yeah btw Davids has finally played on the same form of last season, dribbling players as if they were cones in the middle of the ground. Davids and Appiah's best game of the season by far.

Appiah played on the same level or maybe a bit better than Tacchinardi did against Scoiedad (which was Tacchinardi's best match of the season incidentally). I think Appiah is more constant than Tacchi in the centre.
