Lippis Post Match Comments :

"We created a lot of chances and risked very little," said the Juve boss, who then complimented his players.

"Today all the skill of our stars was expressed. First Buffon saved Baggio's penalty, then Nedved made that fantastic goal," he said.

Ah btw Juve last had such an outstanding goal scoring record 44 years ago, during the Sivori-Charles-Boniperti era. Very impressive indeed!

Also i am reading conflictin reports as to how we performed in midfield, Zizou says Appiah was good in the middle, Dpf says we were disjointed without Tacchinardi and Hyde says Davids was excellent
I am of the opinion that without Tacchinardi we are more dynamic and definitely quicker but maybe passing is a bit poorer but that could be remedied by introducing Maresca
Well,i liked davids work. He missed a free kick, but to tell you the truth i dont know why he kicked that FC :)

He dribbled some players with good technique and was very active today. Sincerely i liked his work.

Yeah Hydde...I re-saw the Davids of last year today...this season he had not shown his best yet before this match so maybe we're adding to our squad a 100% Davids ahead of the Milan game!

Yeah it's going to be tough away to Milan but we can make it just like we beat them in the Super Coppa Italiana and Berlusconi Cup. Btw we are going to play Milan again in December in a friendly or something. Ancellotti told Lippi today that if Juve let Milan win on Saturday, Milan will let Juve win in December...cheeky bastard :D

I actually saw the game until half time, Juve played wonderful football. Nedved for footballer of the year, what an amazing goal. Albeit, it was Brescia but still....Juve has shown time and time again why they remain supreme in Italy.

Maybe not Hydde if it ends in a draw :p

Just one more thing I wanted to add on the Brescia match.....even if Baggio had scored the penalty, I have no doubt that Juve would have won the match from the way they were playing today (and not only). It was more of a matter of by how many goals shall we win rather than by if we shall win.

Ben yeah Nedved deserves it...though Buffon should be top 5 players of the year as well. Too bad Vieri was not efficient in the CL, he might have had an outside chance to win it.

No doubt Vieri was good, but what separates him from being a "complete" striker is the fact that you have to "spoon-feed" him scoring chances. Most of his gols come from tap in's or headers. He rarely creates anything for himself. Im not taking anything away from Vieri, but there are way better strikers out there.

True. I think the same about Vieri. Many people say that he is the best next thing... but he is not. Anyways, his finishing is first class.

Zizou: I want Nedved to win the golden ball desesperately... but i have a bad feeling that Paolo Maldini will be a tough thread for nedved in the race

Winning the champions league is his strong point.

In general Juve played a balanced game , we cannot say they played good ,only in the first half then in the second they waited for the match to end , i dont know why , if brecia had good strikers that can take advantage of this situation we could have been beaten.

I think Nedved goal is the GOAL OF THE SEASON:D

Ben - I don't agree that Vieri needs to be spoon fed for all of his goals. Unlike Trezeguet he is not one dimensional and can score from any position. He's also strong and just like Adriano can hold the attack on his shoulders. His only 'weakness' is his lack of pace and injury proness but other than that he's the most complete striker in the world.

I won't go that far, and say he is the most complete striker in the world, his passing is below average and he don't know how to dribble to say the least.

Vieri is a great striker, no doubt, but he isn't as complete as Henry.
Henry cannot head, does not score tap-ins, is hardly in the box and does not have that much of a physical presence so I don't see how is a complete striker, he might be a complete forward but definitely not a complete striker. At his best I would tend to agree that Vieri is the most complete striker out there

For footballer of the year , there are 2 players in which ppl hardly ever mention but they stand a gr8 chance and thats Sheva and Inzaghi, remember what u do beginning of season is always irrelevant to the guys that choose just what u do at the end
Sheva scored the winning pen in cl final and has been scoring of late, Inzaghi has been doing well in high profile games as his hattrick would help his cause and his subsequent goals. Also don't totally discount Raul and especially Ronaldo

It seems like a shoot out though between Maldini and Nedved and even if Nedved has not been gr8 of late, his goals have paperpatched his performances and more importantly Juve's performances of late

Maldini might be given for sentimental reasons but he has been brilliant this and last season but I don't see them awarding it to a goal keeper

They may give it to Paolo

Agree 100%. Vieri is one footed and Trez can score with both:D Vieri is still the best striker but he isnt the same Vieri a season back. He has lost his all important pace which would assist his strength when he runs at the defense. Chivu and Zebina dealt with him.
