There's no doubt that every team needs a CB that makes those types of passes occasionally and that Bonucci is sometimes successful in doing that BUT its even more important that those attempts to make creative passes are successful and if not, are at least relatively low risk. Bonucci's passing is high risk. Long balls from CBs should go high and wide but most of his awful ones were ground passes straight into the path of Palermo CMs or strikers and if the opponent has the ball in the center of field in those instances then its even more dangerous.
Either pass it long and wide or get it to Pirlo in space and let him create from the back. That's what he's there for.
