Check out 10'40s of the game, Parma almost scored because Padoin was nowhere near his man.

:agree: Some of his mistakes are overlooked. He gets caught out of position quite often.

Padoin makes alot less errors then isla.
We only have them for this game.
Naturally, pado should play.

fearing about who would make what mistake is stupid.
Just hope that the rest of te team lives up to their potential. Then pado isnt an issue at all

The gap between us and Napoli is clearly less than it has been the past two years. We have a stronger central midfield and they look sharper in attack.

Not sharp enough for us, will do to them what Arsenal did to them. Watch us win 2-0. Brilliant avatar  ..artistic.

Certain Alex DP needed 2 years to recover from a long term injury. Now, don't get me wrong I'm in no way comparing those 2, but for the most players it can become a psychological issue that prevents them to reach previous levels. This season is make it or brake it for him and I've never said that he should be devoid of criticism, but some of the comments I find as a pure exaggeration which don't have its foundation in anything other but hate.
You're correct in finding comments exaggerated, even B81 thinks you're being harsh and accepts what Padoin is in this squad.

You've already tapped into the heart of most pointless discussions here by labelling people haters and fanboys because you don't agree with someone though, well done. You can go through my posts to see what I thought of Isla before he arrived and when I was trying to put last season into perspective when he received a lot of criticism (and I mostly ignore the comments on him wanting Real Madrid or Inter which would be perfect to hate on). Padoin isn't immune to making mistakes but he does it a hell of a lot less than the Chilean.

I can't believe I'm having a debate over Isla or Padoin as I'm not a particular fan of either. Pointless discussion mostly triggered last night as you're the one who exaggerated over Isla's nationality and foreign name being the reason why he's less subject of a scrutiny. And you're very wrong when you claim that Padoin makes less mistakes, but as he's definition of mediocrity those are mostly overlooked. Padoin getting caught out of position is rather frequent and hell of a lot less mistakes is just another exaggeration on your part.

Can you decide?

Just like we did against Madrid.
Ah, must be the first time that jack is acting like a strawman. But there is a first time for everything.
As jack offcourse knows, i meant the following

Against this pathetic napoli defence, its a good plan to press it like hell, and force them into hoofing it away or making errors. I recall chelsea defeating a mighty barcelona like that around 2000. Just press the backline, dont allow buildup, expose them.

Now ideally, you have 4-3-3 like in our first year, with pressing and pace.
Problem is offcourse, that we dont have a leftback at the moment. both are injured. So we are forced to play a 3man backline.
A 352 can perfectly put pressure aswel, its just going to be less vicious in pouncing on the errors.

Against madrid,we were the better team when playing with 11 in both games, and we showed our amazing organisation, pretty much putting ronaldo and bale on a leash.
The issue is that the individual form was bad when we started the first leg, but has improved since. Madrid has to be increadibly lucky after getting 3 goals gifted by blatant individual errors we would otherwise never make

- the retarded offside trap
- the idiotic penalty and later red card
- the moron backpass

I remember Inter in 2009/2010. They were making silly mistakes before newyear. Afterwards, they shocked a great barcelona team without making a single mistake.

Thats having a perfect organisation, in bad and good form

I'm wondering how long it takes before serie a finds out Mertens.

So you would say that Higuain provides a sharper attack then Cavani ?

Interesting

It was triggered by Padoin being called an ugly bitch like Isla was, which is out of order based on what each have given to Juve. The nationality part is a suspicion based on what I've seen on this forum since I signed up, Padoin was never trendy and his role isn't appreciated here compared to a player that was supposed to be an fancy South American attacking outlet from Udinese.

Not Higuain alone, but their entire attacking setup, combined with Mertens, Callejon, Hamsik and Higuain makes it less predictable. Last season you tell Chiellini to take Cavani out of the game with both legal and illegal measures. Tjat way you only haf to take care of Hamsik which the team could do quite easily.

No way that Conte will start the game by pressing them although I would like to happen. He will order our players to be extreme careful.I agree that if this scumbags are pressed that they will make errors which will lead to conceding goals. Also for the start I will prefer Quag.If Martin was here yes LLorente but in this situation I would pick Quqg. Also much depends on our midfield.Their build up is pretty attacking so we must be careful about that.
