4-3-1-2 can only be effective if the midfield three know how to move the ball and you have a trequartista who isn't brain dead.
We beat Inter with the same brain dead TQ. The thing is, it was kind of new at that time. It’s been painfully obvious that teams know how to defend against it.

How hard is it to defend? You just put your whole team in the centre of the pitch to match us and it's done.

If we want to get width then we have to put our fullbacks up and then we're wide open to get countered. It's an illogical formation.

Even easier to shut down with Bentancur instead of Pjanic. That's 4 workhorses (counting Berna as one, as he ain't doing much else) starting against Genua. Where is the creativity going to come from?

Wow, surprising but even some of the guys on FIF are saying it was a penalty.
Obviously a penalty. The biggest telltale is Sarabia putting his hands in the air when he makes contact, it's a strikers tackle.

Blaming Buffon for the goal don't understand goalkeeping, that was a fluke shot and impossible to read.

Generally we were pretty shit but I remember going to the same fixture before and it being the same. I thought we looked tired and have for a few weeks, but the standard of play shouldn't be so poor.

Yep. What is he supposed to do? Once he's going into one corner he's fucked. Shit happens.

Agreed on the rest as well.

Only one of the FBs is providing width in the 4312, the other is staying back. Easier for smaller teams to defend by congesting the middle leaving Cuadrado as the only threat.

Worked better against bigger & more attacking teams bc having one FB staying back helped more defensively & we could also counter (our most impressive plays this season thus far) the spaces they had left.

Exactly. I could understand using it when we did not have any right backs and couldn't use Cuadrado out wide. But with Danilo and MDS back we could go for it today. It was a bad team selection.

khedira needs to be dropped from ever starting again
When in doubt...
