Chiellini is playing horrible for more then a year now as CB and Conte moved him to LB not just because PDC sucks there but to try Chiellini in a different position. I don't know what is happening but currently our best defender is Barzagli by far. The funny thing is that he costed us 600k euros. One of ours best investments lately. If we bring CB in january Chiellini is the one who will get benched and after all his disastrous errors it will be justified. Chiellini as a LB shouldn't be considered anymore. I would put even Grosso before him. The performance last night showed what I was saying quite often about our priorities in january. Quality LB and CB, then we can talk about CL place. Chalenging for Scudetto this year will be very hard, I won't say impossible because anything can happen. Anyway I would try this 4-3-3:

Marchisio-Pirlo-Vidal
Quag(DP)-Matri-Vucinic
And Conte shouldn't give too many defensive duties to trident upfront because in that way it can easily become 4-5-1 which brings us nowhere

What's funny is that Genoa scored off of 2 pretty good crosses (still bad marking) but all season long we haven't scored off of one cross. That's because we can't. Until we can start producing from that aspect it is pretty much fucking pointless to play with wingers when neither they or the full back sides can cross. We need to play the 433 and bank on possession and working the ball into the box and have our creative players STARTING to take care of the rest.
Agree. Our winger can't provide quality crosses, can't beat their markers. I wonder what's their duty? Is it to pass backwards all the time or to lose possesion as much as they can? We have five mediocre wingers. Ridiculous. If Conte can't see real problem than we have another Ferrara here. Even before the season started it was obvious that he can't play with 4-2-4. He could if he had Emerson and Viera in his prime but with Pirlo and Marchisio I don't think so. Maybe Vidal, who is physically stronger, can run more, provide good tackles, would able to partner Pirlo in midfield.
