could be several things, IMO:-
- Italian football 'culture' to take it easy when the game is decided.
- was a physically demanding game.
- not yet 100 percent match fit.
agree that in Europe they will need to be careful not to become complacent.
as for the dirty way Parma played, going to be like that all season, that is the only way anyone can compete with us.
:agree: And the weather was very humid - the players seemed drained of energy towards the end.
That's a fucking goal.
Fuck the haters. In the words of Pirlo "They hate, because we win!"
And because Juve are the best team in Serie A/Italy.

Indifferent showing.

First half was poor, with a complete lack of intensity and aggression.

Came out with much more purpose in the second half and a good twenty minutes was plenty to win the game.

When both teams play the same system, as was the case tonight, it comes down to the players taking the responsibility to win individual battles and Asamoah was the key one to do that in creating the first goal by beating Rosi, so he'd probably have to get Man of the Match.

Ball was given away far too often and too easily throughout the game, which put unnecessary strain on the defence.

Signs of Juve's bad habit from the start of last season of being completely focused on marking at corners and forgetting that someone still needs to go and attack the ball to get it clear properly.

Don't like the look of the Giovinco-Vucinic front two. Reminds me too much of Vucinic-Quagliarella from last season, which also didn't offer anything like enough penetration.

What's the obsession with firing the ball into the feet of a player in the SS position only for them to try and find the player in the CF position with an impossible first time flick? Just control the ball and lay it off to one the the oncoming midfielders.

thankk you! this is so frustrating to see and more times than not ends up in losing posession cheaply and unnecessary and its just plain horrible to watch for a top club

I agree with most of your analysis Red, but not the word "indifferent". To me, it was a typical "first match" season opener. Everything will not click perfectly in the first match, especially when you've made new signings etc.

He and Vucinic must have done it several times each.

It's such a low percentage play.

And I don't see that any great reward is going to come from it on the rare occasion that it actually works.

I expect things not to be working perfectly at this stage.

It was really the lack of intensity in the play that I thought was poor.

I agree with that too, I just found the word "indifferent" a little too harsh. In the second half, and even in the closing stages of the 1st half, I think that our lads showed a desire to get the result.

I do expect more, though, as the season progresses!

Can't wait for your next nervous pre-game analysis :D

Great to see that we won, great to see that it was a clean sheet, great that Lichtsteiner opened our scoring tally just like last season, great to hear that other clubs are hating us more and think we paid the referee, the FIGC referee, the same FIGC that is fucking us up.

Yep, my only dissapointment was that we didnt score that penalty. Would have made the pathetic fans of the other clubs even more enraged.

It was amazing, I did my fastest 10k ever in very bad conditions and a strange track. During the day we had optimal weather for running, around 17 degrees and no wind. Just two hours from the start the clouds started to gather and then the showers started. It stopped raining a while before the race started but a few minutes before my group ran it rained again, luckily it was a small rain but enough to get us wet. I ran the entire thing without rain but just after I changed to dry clothes and went to wait for the others who were with me the showers started again, this time like a fucking rain forest.

I wanted to have a beer after the race but after these events the only thing I wanted is to get home and take a warm shower.
