I completely agree with Jeeks, DP is the captain because he's, unfortunately, the symbol of this club, not because he has the qualities and characteristics needed for a true captain.

Didnt I already explain what a real captain is like azzuri?
Yes you did, and you gave me an example as i remmber about Bosnia national team captain, forgot his name, anyhow your one of the few people to say this about Dp...

He believe one is enough with the likes of Gigi, Canna, Thuram...
Obviously this is not true..

we need to score at least 2 or 3 goals and THEN shut the defence!!! :fero:

He was never good captain? oh c'mon Jeeks your way better than this, you want him to scream and beat his team-mates just like other captains, Dp is the captain and he's a Leader, it's hard to go further this year without Him, and soon you'll know what i mean !
Scirea was a good leader, Baresi was a good leader, Effenberg was a good leader, Hierro was a good leader. What did all these Captains have in common? They were all vocal and demanding of their team mates, making sure that they do not lose concentration and guidance. That is what the Captain should do. Del Piero barely says anything when he plays.

This is the kind of captain I am talking about....Del Piero seems to be shy even to to give his own self some confidence

Not true, Zanetti, Terry and Gerrard can be very vocal when they want to, and usually are, especially Terry.

Raul is not a very good Captain IMO, so do not even count him. Maldini is not the most vocal but he is not mute like Del Piero. Javier Zanetti, Gerrard, and Terry speak all the time during the match, especially the two Englishmen. Even though I dislike Gerrard I will concede he is a good leader. Del Piero is more quiet than all of them.

A great leader is when you say 'Good work lad ', your subordinates would take it deep in their hearts... known example of such incidents: Roy Keane, Baresi, Cantona....

its hard to be to respect your leader if the whole team have to practically carry and symphatize him all the time...;)
