I thought players listed would be amazing, but then I see Gilardino.
Among those who scored 15-19 goals, you'll find even worse names. Like El Shaarawy and Lamela. Some who were promising but didn't set the world on fire - like Vucinic and Pato, or Berardi. But also Adriano.

Really, very few under-21 players broke the 15 goals mark in serie A in the last 60 years.
Before that, in the 1950s when every match ended 6:5, you can find youngsters who scored more than 30 goals in a single season.

Common guys, it's not like we win scudetto every year. Unfortunately for those who don't follow football, result is the only thing that matters. We need to trust the process.

Del Piero had to congratulate his long term buddy, it would be rude not to. And why would any manager say no to €20M salary and promises from Marotta to give him his players? It was easy work for Conte, nothing said about CL exit, league wrapped up in December, this will set him up to go and manage some bigger European club.

Young Parma Gilardino was pretty much a goalscoring beast. He scored on every second touch back then.
Yeah, for two seasons straight he was pure gold in Parma. Unplayable at times. When Milan bought him in 2005 they paid top money and they immediately put him in the starting XI to play together with Shevchenko, Kaka, Seedorf and Pirlo. And he was excellent in that first season. He immediately benched Pippo and kept scoring a lot, like in his Parma days. And he was only 23 in that first season for Milan.
What happened afterward is strange. I'm guessing he lacked the mental strength to cope with the critics after his CL fiasco seasons. He failed to score a single goal in 2005/06 even though Milan made the semis. Then that famous dive vs Celtic happened and he was crucified. He was a flop in Europe and that transferred to serie a where he was impeccable until that point.
Zlatan and Lukaku are still called European or big-game flops, but they were mentally strong to get through that. Gilardino wasn't.
