With Cesc Fabregas set to join Monaco, Milan turn to Stefano Sensi of Sassuolo as a midfield reinforcement. - Football Italia

Wow, reading that headline, It actually made me very sad...

Actually, scratch that, this one is even sadder:

‘Napoli were offered Ronaldo’
By Football Italia staff

Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli insists they were offered Cristiano Ronaldo, but “it was a deal that was out of reach”. The Portuguese star signed for Juventus over the summer, but Partenopei President Aurelio De Laurentiis declared they too had been offered CR7.

“He was offered to us, it’s true,” Giuntoli told Sky. “We have a good relationship with [agent Jorge] Mendes, and since [Faouzi] Ghoulam’s renewal we speak often.
“He offered him to De Laurentiis and to me, I stayed silent. Then when we looked deeper into it we realised it was a deal that was out of reach.

“Juventus? At the moment they’re the best team in Europe, so it’d be a dream to finish ahead of them. It’s something very difficult, but we must and want to believe.”

Edinson Cavani has been heavily linked with a return from Paris Saint-Germain, but Giuntoli played down that possibility.
“He’s very strong, but I don’t think certain names are consistent with the Napoli philosophy. Napoli’s strength has always been to find players with new motivations, to have new Cavanis.”
-----

Damn, how exciting would it be for someone to be an insider and follow closely the dogfight between Napoli and Milan for the capture of Ronaldo, on one hand Cristiano is in love with Ancelotti and the beautiful city of Naples and all of his handsome, non-violent people with good hygiene. He likes their style of playing out of this world football with mental collapses and epic failures, their ultra modern stadium and state of the art facilities. On the other hand, there is the other powerhouse - Milan, and we already know that Ronaldo agreed to join them, because this is Milan after all and winning the Europa League with them would feel like winning another 5 golden balls, 5 Champions leagues and an European championship, if not more. Netflix should be all over that story, this is what the viewers want to watch!

RAI chief: 'Juventus control VAR'
By Football Italia staff
VAR-screen-epa_7.jpg

In a bizarre rant, new director of Rai 2 Carlo Freccero has accused Juventus of “occupying all of VAR” and “manoeuvring” the sport.
It was an unexpected turn of events during the presentation press conference of the man in charge of decision-making at the Italian equivalent of BBC2, a State-run broadcaster.
When asked if he would try to bring more football coverage back to RAI, who have the rights to the Coppa Italia and the Italian Super Cup, as well as some Champions League games, his response was unusual.
“I only watch the Premier League now, because Juventus always win in Italy. That’s because they have occupied all of VAR, it’s something out of this world.
“All of the VARs are controlled by them. They’re manoeuvring, doing this, that and the other… it’s irritating. Forza Roma!”
It's not clear if he was referring to the Video Assistant Referee officials in the booth or the technology itself.
It remains to be seen if Juventus will respond with a statement or even a boycott of interviews to the State broadcaster.

Juve should sue his ass
