Napoli defender Lorenzo Tonelli has responded to Giorgio Chiellini’s rant yesterday when the Juventus player told Napoli they lacked respect after their 1-0 victory in Torino a few short weeks ago.

“When the winner, instead of thinking about their victory, thinks about the people they beat, it means their victory was one of suffering and that over the course of the title race, they also thought they wouldn’t make it!

“Credit goes to us for losing but with the feeling of having won [the title]. Credit goes to those who, like us, believed in it until the last moment.”

Little offtopic but can someone remind me what was the situation at that point? Table at that moment, points, games left...?
Liverpool had 80pts before playing Chelsea, City had 77. Pool then lost to Chelsea, drew CP and won vs Newcastle, while City won all their remaining games. Pool ended with 84pts, and City with 86

Nesta confirms Perugia role
By Football Italia staff

Former Italy defender Alessandro Nesta has confirmed that he will take charge of Serie B side Perugia. “It’s been a while…”

Perugia surprisingly sacked Roberto Breda over the weekend, despite the Coach leading them to the promotion playoffs.

Replacing Breda will be Nesta, whose only prior coaching experience came at second-tier American club Miami FC.

“It’s been a while,” the ex-Milan and Lazio stopper told reporters.

“I don’t remember the last time I was at this stadium. I come here with great enthusiasm. This is a real football club.

“The team are strong and would be with me or any other Coach.”
good luck
