This was a period when the Fiorentina of Gabriel Batistuta could finish as low as eighth among 18 clubs but still impress, and Gheorge Hagi’s Brescia were relegated.
:touched:
Parma's team in a season (1996) where they finished 6th in Serie A. Crazy team - just six months after the Bosman ruling.

I feel blessed I grew up watching the 90s Calcio. Football will never return to that glorious tiem of magic. Sad tho still 'cause never again.

Serie A was also fantastic between 2000 - 2006, and between 2003-2006, I honestly thought it was the best league. It boggles my mind how people celebrated the decline of Serie A. The EPL is the closest thing we have today in terms of competitiveness but their overall quality does not compare to Serie A of the 90s. Here's hoping AC Milan get their act together so we can have at least two great Serie A teams.

It was. But the financial fall of Lazio, Parma and Fiorentina changed the league. While still being great, it lacked the depth of the 90s. Insane the players that ran around in the minor clubs.

Milan finished 10th in 1998 with the following players and Capello:

Rossi, Maldini, Albertini, Costacurta, Desailly, Kluivert, Savicevic, Ba, Weah, Lehmann, Ziege, Boban, Leonardo, Donadoni, Ganz (Edgar Davids and Winston Bogarde left during the season.)

That team is 95/96. Parma signed Thuram july 1996.

'Doria in 97/98. Just a random number 9 season:

Mihajlovic, Boghossian, Karembeu, Veron, Montella, Klinsmann, Beppe Signori.

and next year they won the league with zaccheroni :D probably the most unexpected italian champions ever. it's the season that saw alex injured.
Yeah, our season got fucked. And Lazio fucked themself. Should have won that Scudetto :D

oh, and we should have been in the 4th straight CL-final. 2-0 up against United at Delle Alpi..

Lol how ridiculous to ridicule people who post rips on astori just because there are other people dying as well. Obviously if you are a public figure firstly your death and its circumstance is known unlike strangers’. Like if you heard the same story about your friend’s cousin you would still be heartbroken by it. People take these things differently. Some sympathize because they cant imagine the devastation the fans would feel and we would be lying if we wouldnt be if it was say Gigi. Some could relate with the sorrow or loss deom having lost a husband, father, or someone who now has to raise the kid alone after just starting out as a family. Is it so fucking horrible to just give wel wishes like rip on facebook as a sign of solidarity and who gives a shit if others do it for clickbaits or popularity? Why should that take away from the real message that life is fragile and be thankful for each second you have with your loved ones?

Some also need to make a distinction between one being devastated and being empathetic

If you really mean it and you can relate to it - fine, but nothing worse than those half-assed meaningless RIP's in the comment sections on Facebook, Instagram and so on.

How many of the people posting those comments are sincere, and how many couldn't give a fuck and just post them because they think they are supposed to do so, cause demency demands it?

You don't really feel/mean it? - don't post/say it. Feigned/insincere mourning is worse than saying nothing at all.

It's a slap into the face for those who are genuinely in pain of losing someone close. If you happen to have lost someone close in your life, you know those kind of people are the least you want to come across in times of pain.

Insincere is what you don't want to do but you do because you have an ulterior intent (a reward, an approval, etc). There's nothing insincere in wishing peace to someone who's died when you are not benefitting from that in any way. Of course these people might not think about Astori tomorrow but they are still genuine and the news is still sad.

Actually what annoys me is something like the terrorist attack that hit paris for example and social media asks you to put a French flag as a profile picture yet how many bombs are dropped in other countries killing innocent people there? it's not like we are asked to put up a Syrian flag or any other country's flag that is involved in a war of their own. It's not that I'm not showing support to the French, but you can't show respect to one and not to others.
