Roma and Napoli finished with 87 and 86 Pts last season, if they continue to improve they (one of them) might push for 90 Pts provided they dont have major injuries. Winning anything less than 90pts at this point is a no go

Thats why I think Pjanic and Higuain transfers were actually genius moves. Imagine if Napoli had kept Higuain and improved their team? Serious chance we would have ended this season without a league title. Its been said for years but Serie A this time really is on its way back obviously thanks to us but also the efforts of Roma and Napoli.

yeah, those two clubs have been doing so well on the market to keep improving their team despite lacking the money and losing key players (to us too, among others). Roma had to sell Pjanic for FFP issues, yet managed to put together a team that finished even better than last season. Spalletti did awesome job there as thir coach too. Napoli atleast got a record sum for Higgy so they had money to reinforce the squad. Roma have still to improve in selling though, for example i read they will sell Salah for 40M. thats too low for a starting player and one that banged in so many goals for them. hes not irreplaceable by any means, its just not enough for a 24-25 year old winger with such scoring record and seeing the prices nowadays, as it was with so many of their players past few years. then you have Napoli put in a 30M clause for Mertens, which was another stupid move

They really have put in great work in their mercatos especially when you compare their summers to Milan and Inter. They really should stop with these buy out clauses unless its something crazy like Griezmann's, small club moves. However I dont think Salah for 40 mil is really that bad of a move. They could milk him for more but thats about as much as we sold Vidal and more than what we sold Morata for (thought there was a buyback clause). Merten's for thirty is bad in hindsight but I doubt anyone would have expected him to blow up like he did this season.

They just need to overcome their small club mentalities. For example losing Spalletti who has done a marvelous job for them could really bite them in the ass. Di Francesco is very unproven so this could really bite them in the ass. Napoli on the other hand have a fantastic coach and a great squad. If De Laurentiis invests over the summer they will be the real deal. Not only in Serie A but in the CL aswell.

Inter and Milan are going to have a VERY hard time regaining their places in Serie A hierarchy.

We can practically win the league with our eyes closed. God only knows how much we are going to spend to get better this summer and our gap is only increasing (esp financially) with the other clubs. Sooner or later the club is going to have to throw all the chips on the table for the CL. It's not like we are going to drop 3 players in Italy either. Pretty soon we will have 4 teams in the CL.
Yes I know that we can easily win the league if we don't collapse but it has been seen over and over many times that this team does not collapse domestically. As for the money, we cashed in a pretty hefty sum from the CL and we have of course our turnover in addition to our transfer budget. We have some sales as usual so in that regard I am sure we will buy to improve the quality of the team, I will not be surprised if we splash big on one player as we did with Higuain. of course that being said this will make it even easier for us to win the league but this will never stand in the way of not wanting to win the league on the cost of the CL. We will always have the league as a priority. teams give up on the league when they have lots of problems and calculate the impossibility of competing there, read Chelsea with Di Matteo when they won the CL.

Me too but still he will do great with Inter which sucks but that's how it is. I wonder who Roma will have. Roma are due a 4th 5th place, they have been riding their luck for so long.

Honestly we're so far ahead of everyone that there is no fun in laughing at your rivals anymore. Let them keep mocking us like the little peasants they are. That's all they can do these days.

inter will do right if they buy the right players. They're not far from top 3-4.

Roma were linked to Di Francesco but that cooled down lately. :boh:
