If manicini unlocks his team's potential yes they should challenge. But Mancini is not known to be able to get 100% out of under-performing players. He needs a fully motivated and confident squad with big game players already in form for his teams to play good football. Thats what he had at City and in his first tenure at Inter. You cant give him a group of under-performers who are trying to get their career back on track and expect anything from him. They'd just continue to perform at 50% of their capacity. Thats Conte's specialty and Mancini's biggest weakness.
