we got aquilani and he became our most creative central mid, after the injuries, it was hardly a bad choise
about ziegler
we cant argue its a good deal, he is free
but, if you think he isnt good enough, what lb would YOU sign, and for what fee ?
i'm very interested in this answer
With the 15mil we are about to spend for Inler we can buy at least 80% of the LBs out there and solve this chronic problem of ours, you can have your fav pick, apart from the 15 clubs who are above our financial status.
Cronios, are you alvin's alt account or something? All you ever know how to do is bitch unrealistically at anything the team does. It's a joke that you think Ziegler is as bad as Traore or Grosso and that takes away all credibility from your argument.
You are retarded about Pirlo as well. Allegri uses a different style, with more defensive pressure in the midfield, which is why Pirlo was not retained. Or what? Are you going to tell me Van Bommel is a better player than Pirlo? Give me a break. Pirlo might be over the hill, but his passing and class are still there and useful for a couple of years, he's one of the few italians worth getting out there.
I ve been around before Alvin its you the one who is an at account, as you have joined in a period i wasnt posting and you seem to know all too well...
Watch your mouth boy and grow some balls, come back with your primary account...
Coentrao 25M. And if you think 25M is too much for a LB then you're not getting the point. Fullbacks are just as important as any other position and we haven't been treating it as such.
25 mil are not needed for a decent LB, half of that sum would be suffice, and even if the LB is not as important, once in a decade, we ought to make an investment there.
We have negletted this way too much!
Actually IMO building up your team before you acquire 25M forwards is a smart move. Fullbacks are not dependent on the team dynamics as much as forwards. If you are a shit team and buy a striker who needs service, that striker will fail. If you buy a fullback, he is less likely to fail because fullbacks deal with 1 on 1 scenarios much more frequently. They don't need service. They need to defend other wingers, run their ass off and put in crosses, all things which are not impacted by the team as much.
And we have seen this theory proven again and again in the last 5 years, but we have yet to learn smth and are still falling for quick fixes.
It is clear that our managers are clueless and are only concerned of the players that would appease the masses, they only care about milking Juve, not building her.
Even then, a decent LB would help their stars to perform better, their faulty strategy fails no matter how you see it, but they never learn...
How many fullbacks are 25M buys?If you can answer that, then you should be able to understand who's more important.
Giving an assist and saving your team from a goal is less valuable than scoring one. Spectacle wise and in football its all about spectacle, but if you want results, you need to chase smth more than that, atm we can score, but we cant defend, if we want to become a better team, we should improve our defense, they have forgotten what a clean sheet means.
In the end the spectacle is forgotten, but the results stay and results say that we had a bad season, despite scoring regularly.
Besides, it's a well known fact that defenders usually cost less than midfielders and attackers.
Fact, a defender of equal quality is cheaper! We have less excuses of fixing our chronic defensive issues because of that.
No fullback in the world is worth taking before Aguero, unleess you have a ton of WC players in the attack e.g. like Real Madrid.
This is the mentality that allowed us to beat Real with Birindelli and Zalayeta...
In competitive play, we are as strong as our weakest link, the more weaklings we have, the easiest will be for our opponents, to find ways to exploit our weaknesses. We are fools to allow so many weaklings, for so much time.
IMO this indicated that had not an intention to improve as a team and after 5 years of proving my point, its safe to conclude that i was right...
The Real Madrid philosophy has FAILED, miserably, even though they were funded by the state, even though they have overpaid like mo other club in history, they have failed and they were forced to buy defenders as well, we cannot afford to make the same mistakes, because we are not in the Spanish league, serie A teams defend well and play to win, not to create spectacle.
We need to adapt and find a balance, even if try hard to emulate Real team, full of forwards, we cant afford to buy them.
Only Man City did and they have also failed and they have also learned and adapted into a more balanced approach, reducing their forwards in half and investing on defenders as well. And when they did that, they got better results.
We are still desperate for providing spectacle and still ignoring what is needed to obtain better results.
A solid defense, an exp coach and directors, a veteran who can be an aspiring champion, may cost less, may give less spectacle, but they do bring better results!
Do we prefer a serie B team that creates spectacle, like Conte's team, or Mourinho's Inter who won the CL in a lousy way?
We prefer spectacle to results and we are ready to sacrifice everything for that and go further lower in the standings table ...
