Official: Chelsea Seal Ivanovic Deal

Chelsea have confirmed that they have agreed a deal with Lokomotiv Moscow over the transfer of Brainslav Ivanovic.

Read a club statement: "Chelsea Football Club can confirm it has agreed terms with Lokomotiv Moscow for the transfer of Branislav Ivanovic.

"A work permit application has also been successful for the player.

"The transfer is now subject to the agreement of personal terms and passing of the medical."

This brings to an end a long-running race for the talented Serb, which has seen Juventus, Inter and Manchester United all become involved.
Ivanovic rose to prominence both as a Serbian international and a Loko stalwart, having spent the past two years at the Russian outfit.

Chelsea haven't yet announced a transfer fee for the defender, who was under contract with the Muscovites until 2011, but the sum is thought to be worth up to 15 million euros (£11.2m).

Ivanovic is expected to pen a five-year deal after completing his medical in London. The player arrived in the English capital on Tuesday, but has yet to speak to the press.

Guys, guys... come on. We have to give Secco and the board a chance. They made some great deals, like bringing in Salihamidzic on a free and purchasing Iaquinta. It's only a matter of time before Secco secures another great deal, and players such as Van der Vaart will arrive because, come on, who else would he join? Secco did a wonderful job not suckering into Zaragoza's demands... we don't need that idiot Milito anyway.

And hey, maybe we shouldn't purchase Van der Vaart as it may ruin Giovinco's and Marchisio progress. Give Secco time, he's young and can improve..........

Juve have very little power now in the transfer market. Juve are just out of serie B and becuase of the scandal we will need to wait until Juve are at least in europe before expecting to compete with clubs like chelsea, we cant expect any more from them but Ivanovic is a player i feel that Juve should of wrapped up long before chelsea became interested. Hopefully this dosent happen with VDV as well.

Losing the battle to Chelsea is not a reason to be worried. Inter and Manchester also failed to get him and like Turk said, we stood no chances in this bidding war.

What's worrying is that we're not moving faster. It's a fact that we can't fight the other teams financially and due to this handicap we must act faster , at least with these relatively unknown players who'll do everything for a transfer to Juve.

With players like vdV it's different. No matter how much we offer now he and his agent will still wait to hear the other offers. But with Ivanovic we should've sealed the deal many months ago when no-one even knew this guy exists.

Im not really shocked or dissapointed. This was always on the cards. When Chelsea move in with big bucks, you cant do much.Im not defending Secco here,or slamming him for that matter, but i think in the current scenario,we will lose out to teams like Inter and Chelsea when it comes to the power of finances.

Well if that's always the case, we will always lose players we want because of our sluggishness. We will forfeit all our main targets and thus go after an unproven player such as Kalouda. But then we won't even purchase him as somebody else will offer more and Secco will have waited too long again.

All is well at Juventus.

same with Anelka, chelsea offered £12 mil. as they were short in attack, they got refused, next morning £15 mil and that is it. They can get whoever they want .
BUT, i will tell you this and u might know, QPR in 5 years can be bigger than Chelsea.

they have Bernie E. Flavio B. and new guy who is 5th richest person in World. But they said they will take it easy, good luck to them..
