I think that's why Sebastian has been benched for many months - Marotta wanted to renew his deal for 1 year or so or offload him in January while Sebastian wanted to stay here and move away in Summer because he already have contacts/deal with Toronto FC. And if the MLS season is over in summertime then what the point for Toronto to sign him in that period of time? Their season is about to begin in february or something like that
