We're not gonna waste 10m, as Gio's sale in the worst case scenario could bring us around that. Of course we'll be offering him a renewal and he is on low salary btw, less than 2m iirc. In any case he'll be a valuable back up throughout the season.

Depending on the formation, he will be useful. Who knows maybe can even surprise us.

I dont think we can get 10 mils for him right now tho.... or maybe yes?

Giovinco can be used in a 4-3-2-1 I think, which Allegri does like. Historically, I've seen him used a 4-3-2-1 and a 4-3-1-2. He also used a 4-3-3 in 2012-2013 with Stephen El Shaarawy, Niang and Pazzini I believe.

Giovinco could probably be suitable as the CAM in a 4-3-1-2 (he won't be marked by huge CBs), a left-sided withdrawn forward in a 4-3-2-1, or a winger in a 4-3-3.

I have a weird feeling Allegri will be more willing to use Pepe and Giovinco than Conte was.

If we are intending on using wide forwards/wingers regularly then we might as well keep him around as back up down the road

I mean, at this point who's going to be interested in him?

Serie A clubs who would offer us about 50 euros and first refusal on some 32 year old bench keeper, or some obscure club in a crappy league which Giovinco will flat out refuse.

He's probably not even high profile enough for some Middle Eastern club to throw stupid money at him.

If we're going to use wide forwards/wingers, we need to buy wide forwards/wingers who are good enough to start.

This salary is pretty high for the likes of Atalanta, which is where he belongs.

No way in hell we'd get 10M for Giovinco at this point!

Let's give him another season, perhaps with a more favourable tactical setup. If he continues to suck, bye bye Giovinco. Fly away
