What is the problem here? That his 164cm is not enough? Well, he proved last season that his size wasn't a problem and had an excellent season.

So, what else you got?
I think I've said it, but I will try again.
Not enough balance/strength to hold off his opponent. Not enough speed to outrun him either. He is fast on the first 3-4 steps (acceleration due to smaller feet and all) I'll give him that, but over 15-20m I am not sure any fullback worth his money would loose.
I guess that is why he has always been labeled in between the SS and Wide forward positions...

Wait... are you being serious here mang?

In 2008 he played the large majority of games as an LM in a flat 4 midfield. Ranieri "the chameleon" was very inflexible. Drifted out wide? I friggin hope so - one of his primary roles was to provide width! That's like saying "damn that Chiellini, he keeps clogging up the middle", or something like that. :D

2 goals and 6 assists in 19 games in 2008/09, 10 of those games he came on as a sub. His delivery into the box is one of his major strengths! It's been on display time and again, including that sweet little ball into Christmas a couple games back. In 08/09 also had a goal in 3 cup games, and 2 assists in 4 CL matches (2 subs). Suns has posted his Goals + Assists ratios for that season multiple times, they're fairly solid all things considered... and that's playing with zero continuity, primarily as a wide LM under Ranieri. A position that doesn't suit him at all! He shouldn't be providing cover for left backs, period!

Let's not try to find excuses for Molinaro's issues :p

Yes, he does get muscled off the ball, but he's a lot stronger now than he used to be. He's strong enough, and intelligent enough to play inside as an SS now, imo he definitely wasn't the last time he was at the club. Just look at pictures of him in 2008, versus those from 2012, you'll easily see that he's spent some time in the gym, working on his lower body strength.

Also, anybody who counts his performances from the following year, when he/we had ZERO continuity under Ferrara/Zach, who employed 3-4 different formations, and basically showed zero confidence in him... especially Zach, who gave him nothing... Well c'mon. Plus, I remember he missed time with injury. Who would succeed in that situation?

One of the two worst seasons in the clubs 115 year history, pretty tough situation to succeed in.

Who knows if he'll be a success at Juve, if he has the quality, mettle and mentality to succeed at a big club - that's yet to be proven. My opinion is that based upon our spending to date, and our current needs, he comes at a price point that would be silly to refuse.

But these arguments based upon his previous time in Bianconero are as myopic as the "Fewer Pirates = an increase in Global Warming," or "Obama is responsible for the 2008 recession"... this is Glenn Beck type of logic, here.

This is a different Juventus, and this is a different player.

Well, he had a great season so obviously all of that doesn't seem to be a troubling factor for him, so why you trying to make it one?

True, people may argue that he has some advantages over his short body, lower gravity shit or something, like messi and other short players. But the truth is, he is weak and not that fast, not as skilled as Messi to be able to past his man, so short is not benefitting him in anyway. He has a good shooting technique though, and some clever passing, but that's all, he'd be a better player if he is at least 10cm taller.

I don't understand why having a different opinion makes you the enemy. I would be more than happy to be proven wrong every time he wears our jersey and I would support him 100%.
A lot of players that we bought had great seasons in their previous club, but didn't do so well here and the opposite. I just think that we have Pepe for Italy and would need something extra for the CL and imho Giovinco is not that extra.
Regarding his fee - yes it seems he would cost us ~10m, but he could save us 20 ... so its a moot point.

He has a picture. That is all he has.

This is what i dont get really.

When the guy was here, he showed promise. Then he goes to another team and in fact shows the world that we were wrong in not believing in him and took serie A by storm.....

but then he is not worth it even when he was on par with the best of the league in his position. And from weher all this bull of him not being able to dribble comes? If he is good at something is to get past defenders in short spaces!.

Of course he is not Messi, but he is one of the more talented Italian players of this crappy generation. He had a great season in Serie A and we own 50% of him. Vucinic is an excellent player, but he had some bad games. We need somebody to fight for a place with him.

To be fair, I only watch him vs Juve. He struggle to past Barzagli and our back lines in general. Plus a couple of times when he plays for NT, he didnt add that much. I dont mind he comes to Juve at all, but he wont replace Vucinic and for that he wont be happy for it, and cries, and shit.

I've been reading this forum for years, but I've never posted before. I just had to reply to this.

What a load of crap! What the picture shows is a blatant foul and nothing more. It's people like you who swap Eto'o + 40M for Ibra or say "why do we need Zidane when we have Tim Sherwood." Five years ago you probably said that Messi would never make it into a top club. The truth is that strength is not a requirement for any position in football, even CB. Otherwise sprinters and rugby players would make the best footballers.
