It's funny looking at the dis-info in here. OK, so Giovinco wasn't a world beater against Chelsea (which is pretty ridiculous because he was one of our better players), but he still did well taking on players such as Bosingwa and Ballack, two guys that are much stronger and taller than little Joey. Basically, for one day, all the views that Giovinco is too small to become a good player were debunked.

If he did that once, he can do it again.

And regarding Cassano, I don't really like him even though I admit he's incredibly skillful. But if I were to choose some prick similar to him I'd go for someone world class, like Ronaldo.
You're right.

He did it for one day. And sporadic moments prior to and since then.

The question that remains is does he have the physical strength and stamina to be able to do this on a consistent basis for 90 minutes at a time?

If the majority of people here feel that he is going to be a world class player, and god knows we could use more of them, this is going to continue to be a relevant issue.

That's just the way it is, unfortunately. I'm not openly questioning his skillset. I just don't think his body can withstand the physical nature of Serie A over the long haul.

And the other issue that comes up is if he bulks himself up, how does that affect his speed? Speed plays a vital role in the type of player that he is, unlike Cassano, who is not fast at all.

 :wallbang: amazing.

Erm I can't really remember seeing as I was only young at the time but it's a real dump of a place in hockley, bars and stuff yeah are pricey, but the people that live there are real working class.
Obviously don't know it that well then, just seems a pricey area. Well I am from Coventry, so anyone will look upmarket to me :D

I don't know if he'll become world class or not, and it's not good making definitive declarations such as that. See Buffon's "Aquilani will become the best in the world" nonsense.

Giovinco's physical ability will always be questioned no matter what he does. It's open for debate.

As far as the Chelsea match is concerned, he only played 30 minutes, so that does need to be taken with a grain of salt.'

Unless anyone here shares the same belief that I do about him, and what I've always thought about him.

He is great in doses.

He is great to come off the bench to change the dynamic of the team, but for a game in, game out 90 minutes at a time full tiem player, I just don't think he can physically deal with it

It's not nonsense. Injuries were the main problem, he's an awesome player. He wouldn't be best in the world, but surely on the top.
So it's not nonsense, but you agree he wouldn't be the best in the world, which means you disagree with Buffon... which means that is indeed nonsense, doesn't it?

I find it odd how two years ago we all begged for Gio to play, as he would be a savior to the aging Pavel and our creative issues with Camo out of tune.

Now, suddenly the tide has turned and we would prefer to let him leave. Honestly, I'm not sure how to take that as it doesn't feel right. My wish is and has been that Gio stays. I am not going to get caught up in the size arguement because that is absolute non sense. You have seen how resilient he is.

I would give Buffon, Chiellini, Diego and Del Piero for the cry baby. Stop overrating Cassano. You guys judge Giovinco after two games yet you seem to forget about the time Cassano had in Real Madrid. A good player should make it in every club, especially clubs with good players(Like Real).

I would rather take the chance with Giovinco then paying 25 million euro to see Cassano end up doing stuff like this in a Juve shirt.

Not true. Even in the first half of the season, he was hardly near to brilliance. The first game against Catania, he did good (good but not decisive enough), the game against Bate, he made two assists but watch the game carefully, he didn't play well at all (lost the ball constantly and one of Bate's goal was due to his loss of the ball and these two assists were not brilliant but rather iaquinta seized the opportunities), against Palermo really poor match (rating 5 is not unfair), against Lecce many said he had a great game in that match, but apart from a good freekick, what he did? Against Chelsea? some good touches but where were the final products? Against Rome, decent (again that assist he made was more of Iaquinta's own brilliance). And so on and so on...
The only two games Giovinco had that were closer to brilliance, IMO, were the match against Catania in Coppa Italia (but even in that match, Brazzo was better than him and Del Piero finished. Giovinco just didn't have the ability to decide a game), against Bologna best match that he had, but the same thing, no ability to decide a game.
Giovinco always gives the impession that his way of playing (when he does good) is some candy to eye but always very few end products (see virtual's comments about Giovinco's performance in the Chelsea game, which I agree 100%).
IMHO, physic strength is not his only problem. Once I said he lacked tactical intelligence and people on this forum said I hated Giovinco. Well...

-No one denied he's a cry baby
-Cassano is only underrated here
-Not 2 matches

It's so not true.

not quite Husti...sell Giovinco if we buy Cassano, not sell Giovinco for the money

he somehow managed to deliver 2 La Liga titles, didn't he?! as for CL, Madrid had been struggling in that competition long before Canna arrived
