I would be interested to know, of those who voted 'no', how many are anti-Cassano to Juve.

Are they voting against Cassano at Juve as much as they are voting for Giovinco at Juve?
Hmmmm, i'd say it's like this. Of those who voted NO...

1. Some don't think Cassano will succeed in a big club and he'll create problems.
2. Some simply vote pro-Giovinco.
3. Some don't rate him too high and don't see a big improvement over what we have.
4. Some fear that buying Cassano will mean much less playing time for Del Piero
5. Some simply don't like Cassano.

Minority votes because of #1, many vote because of #2, only few vote because #3, a lot vote because of #4, and another minority votes because of #5.

And the odd thing about all this is that we just went on for about 24 hours arguing over a scenario that is most likely not going to happen anyway.

Ah, well, it is kind of fun

And he screwed the whole thing and Roma who brought him back then for 28 mil euros sold him for just 5-6 mil euros !!
A lot of things should be discussed when it comes down to that. Roma had financial problems back then as well, they couldn't offer a better contract to many of their players. He didn't play 1 year for Roma so he re-payed all the money with his play. He was sold for 5-6mln because of the problems they all had, not because he was a choker.

Next summer he'll be 28 and personaly even if we sold Giovinco next summer i'd rather see some young promising player coming to the club than spending 20+ mil euros on someone like Cassano....
Bold statement.

Don't know your taste but let's say you wouldn't consider buying Drogba, Ribery, Terry or Essien because of their age. It doesn't matter sometimes, when you're guaranteed good quality. They have more to show despite their age, sometimes.

for you that have such great memories of the chelsea game :

here is the youtube clip with pretty much every touch giovinco had in that game and if you watch closely every f*cking pass he does into the box gets blocked, every shot he does attempt gets blocked so

its not like he did create great chances where the striker just did need to tap in or something... he did not create chances for himself and he did not success in bringing a team mate into a position where he had a good scoring chance

- you see giovinco try to cross which gets cleared
- you see giovinco try to shoot which get easily blocked
- you see giovinco get bullied of the ball to get an freekick in the midfield (but to far away from goal to be dangerous)

don't get me wrong. i really do like giovinco, but in this particular game he did not create anything of note

I voted 'NO' (emotional more than anything else) but I will welcome Cassano to Juve with open arms and we will surely look pretty damn good.

Anyway, Cassano at Milan or Inter do not look a promising sight for us either ...

True but for a club like Juve i'd rather the club spend 20+ mil figures for players who are younger than 27-28. If we had owners like the abu dhabi group or Abramovich then i definately don't mind the club spending 30 or 50 millions on 30 year olds who will definately add experience to the team.

But with the current limited budget I'd rather we spend it wisely on long investments rather than short ones....

Cassano is one of the best players in the world and probably the best in Italy right know, it's funny how people call him overrated, while he actually is massively underrated by those who don't watch Serie A and i'm starting to believe that there are some of those in this thread. If you say that he started to perform just this season, than it's probably you, who started to watch football just this season.

Limited budget? I don't think so.

Ok so, if we have 20 mln euros to spend, name me some players (any age) that play that position that can add or mean more than Cassano.

We can't get a player just because he "might" go to our rivals. I voted no, not because I don't want Cassano here because I do, just not at the expense of Giovinco. I wouldn't mind seeing them play together and I think we would be absolutely devastating anyways. Even with two great strikers we are rarely scoring the goals we thought would come so easily. If you look closely now our play stems off of the creative genius of Diego. I would love to have Diego, Giovinco, and Cassano in the "2" of a 4321 having a powerful clinical finisher like IQ/Trez or even Amauri ahead of them.

We are depending heavily on one player to fix everything, I fail to see how adding an extra genius to the role will be any harm. Besides, Cassano would be more than able to push forward into the secondary role at the drop of a hat. I don't see why we couldn't bring Cassano and make it happen. Besides, DP golden years are now and what better person to replace him than Cassano and Gio as the trequartista role if needed.

If we decide to sell Gio then we need to use him heavily this year to get his value to increase. No reason to waste him on the bench then sell him for first come first serve.

Again as i said before, i don't want Cassano in Juve not because of he's price tag or lack of talent but because he has an attitude problem and it would be a HUGE risk to gamble on him.

What's Cassano's attitude problem?Could you give me some example?
:shifty: Well the problems that he had during he's Roma days (which forced them to sell him) plus he's shity attitude during he's time in madrid.

Lippi don't want him in the NT even though italy are in desperate need for someone like him. Isn't that enough really ?

But Lippi is making a huge mistake, so could we, if we don't buy him.

Again its all predictions. You think that he'll be great with us and that he's changed but i look at he's past and i see an unprofissional player who had issues with he's ex-teammates and coaches. And with the current management that we have Personaly i think there will be lots of problems between our BOD and him.
