yeah, it sounds reasonable.
with that option to co-own, they will give him a proper chance to shine.
except that I would expect a higher price to buy his half
Why option to buy? its always a lose lose situation can we not just make an agreement to give them first rights to try and sign the player next summer. If he is amazing then they will buy his half and then we will have to pay more to sign him back? doesnt make sense to me.

I don't find any sense in these sort of deals either. They're just trying to push as much profit out of the kid right now, using him as a trading vehicle, that's all. But in the long run, it could turn out to be really, really stupid.

what I said was based on the fact that Giovinco won't be used by our coach..
You're right that it's actually meaningless to invest in the youth academy if we are going to send them out on loan until they worth nothing one day. 1 year on loan is the maximum that I would agree with knowing that there is no reserve team/B-team league in Italy. After that, we should either sell the youngsters outright or keep them and give them a reasonable chance to develop.
I think it's actually more reasonable if we buy out Siena (or some other serie B team) and use them as our B-team and send all our youngster/deadwood there so that they will play with the same tactics as Juve or we simply invest in Siena's youth training system and get an agreement to share their profit from player sale.

It's all because we don't have a reserve league or a B team playing in the second division, so as a result we sometimes have to pay the price to help our players get playing time, and it ends with either positive or negative results for us, but that's the Italian league for you.

Not really, if he shines his value will rise high and Parma won't be able to afford him nor his salary demands for the matter. If he flops then he'd better stay there.

What I find odd though is that seemingly not a single team was willing to splash the cash outright to co-own him immediately.
Every team just wanted a loan with the option to buy half his contract.
Makes me think that there's little confidence (left) in Seba...
