He can replace DC in the 3-4-1-2 formation since the right wing back will be working defensively more than offensively...
If he does that then It's exactly like playing a 4-5-1 formation, a 4-2-3-1 to be exact. Giovinco can't play in the same position DC does, it would be asking too much of him defensively.

If you are talking about 4-3-1-2 then he can take Alex or Diego's place in some games...
Of course, that's if Zac thinking of getting some benefit from Seba...
Some games? I highly doubt that. Maybe he'll play a game or two, but even that will depend on Diego's fitness. I don't think he'll replace Alex because we would then be playing a Christmas tree formation with Diego and Gio behind the striker. We have never played that way before and I don't think we will now. Although I don't think it's a very bad idea.

when is he expected to be back?
now that amauri is injured it would be the best to play the 4-2-3-1 with trez upfront and diego camo gio behind....dp could need a rest for the weekend...

if it's not too much I want to see Seba for more than 3 minutes
all my not-interested-in-italian-football friends all of them tell me there's this one guy who plays for Juve who almost raped Chelsea last season, the short kid.. where did he go?
and since Ranieri I've been saying "coach doesn't like him"

The only thing I can say is something Sergio (Hi!! I'm Italien) touched on. If Giovinco is so great then why have Ranieri, Ferrara, Zaccheroni (and even Lippi) not played him? Perhaps there is more to it, things we don't see in training? Who knows but I refuse to believe that all three coaches could overlook the talent we see if there were no good reason.

It could be a matter of discipline, I mean.. you're 19 and you score a goal, you're a star

unlike heroes like Del Piero whose playing his 17th season with Juve to become a real star, when he was 18 he was just a talented player

look at Balotelli and you'll see why we don't play Seba, probably.

Actually they are 3 against 2, because Pierluigi Casiraghi and the coach of Primavera (sorry but i don't know who was) have always played him...so we return to the begining: Why doesn't Giovinco plays?!

He's is one of the most talented players Italy has put through these last years. But alright, lets say we're totally overrating him and he's not all that, he still deserves to play a bit more than he's done under these 3 coaches, right?

Who cares what two pussy, one inexperienced and horrible Italian manager(s) have to say about the player. Everyone knows these guys are defensively-minded first and foremost and are cautious with young players. That's just the Italian way.

Which is why I don't want an Italian manager next time around.

There's also his old coach at Empoli.

But Italian coaches are the ones who made him what he is.

But De Ceglie and Marchisio are playing and they are both almost the same age as Gio, so there must be something else other than he is too young for italians.

And the argument based italians are to defensive minded is a bit wrong too imo, because if it were true, we would at least see Gio playing some time when we need attacking options, but instead they choose not to field him.
