I hope for his sake that he is not that kind of person. I believe he will take his chances soon. A sub now & then should wake him up. Just like Trez's sub today. It's the kind of sub that says, 'pull up your socks'. I expect him to pull his socks up & work harder next time.
I expected him to do that after the Bordeaux game though.

I think Camo threw him off today. Camo sort of played Gio's position.
It's debatable as to why Camo did that though. I don't see Camo doing that when Diego is there next to him, maybe he felt something had to be done. Can't be sure though, but whatever the reason was for Camo's swerving role, it wasn't Giovincio shining.

Anyway, I don't think it limited Gio that much.

Oh and people should stop telling "man it's not his position!" "dude, he can't play there, play him at WING!..no AMC!...no...support striker...no...wait, ok, I said all the positions" because those things aren't excuse either. He played everywhere and sometimes, yes, he was very good but you should keep your feet on the ground though since it isn't anything special, he failed many times. I really love him, so don't think I'm some Giovinco hater, but I think there's no way he can replace Alex, or someone on that level.

Play him in front of Melo and Sissoko, or next to Diego behind one striker, and see what he does.. And easy on him for fuck sake, every player can have off form..

He is more than that don't be so harsh on him, he needs big players behind him to cover his back, and quick players like Diego or Camoranesi around him to make the magic. He has the skill, he started it bad, but he is not that terrible everyone is trying to make him, he will be back to good form, and start delivering, just have patience on him, just like we had it on Amauri and Camoranesi for long time..

I'm not saying he's bad...but some people make him out to be a new Messi.
which people? :S

He is different player than Messi and he will never reach that level, Messi is the best and no one is even close.. And he doesn't have to be Messi to get our support..

It doesn't matter at all what we say here. It's not like he can hear us.
Plus, the fans at Olimpico still love him, applaud him and show support.

But the boy is obviously frustrated. He says that he's not playing enough because he's Italian!!!
Marchisio, Buffon, Chiellini, Cannavaro, Camoranesi, Iaquinta, Del Piero...even fuckin Molinaro. They are all Italian.

He doesn't want to admit to himself that there is another reason why he isn't playing regularly and it looks like he thinks that no matter how well he plays, he won't be a starter, so why even bother playing well then.
That's a wrong attitude and it will hurt his career and hurt our team at times when Diego isn't playing.

Having 4 top strikers is also minimizing his chances to shine in a 4-3-2-1, because no coach will change tactics for Giovinco while having Iaq, DP, Trez and Amauri and when Giovinco isn't proving that he deserves a change of tactics.

It's a very complicated situation and everyone's aware of it. I think Giovinco is also aware of the reality, but for some reason he's not accepting it and is finding an alibi in being Italian.

I like Ferrara's comments about him, giving him messages to learn his mistakes and work harder to deserve that shirt. That "Italian" bullshit was a mistake, I don't like it when players go out and criticize their managers, hopefully he will learn that mistake and never repeat it!
