i think that Giovinco isn't the player who we can build a team around him(yet) and i said that before and its not his fault or bad thing at all its a nature thing in some talented players specially with his body size.. he is a SQUAD PLAYER like Camo.. Camo is one of the most creative players i have ever seen but we can't build the team around him its just not his type in the same time u can count on him... Giovinco is like Camo and that's why we bought Diego cause it's one of his best functions that we can build a team around him.... end of story Giovinco is a great player and still in good age to improve with time and i believe he will, just give him time and play him with Diego and u will see the difference...

I think the major issue with is game is his match fitness. it drasticly affects his decision making and his movement. I'm sure once he will get 100% match fit we will see better games from him.

he wont become a strong player, it just wont happen, however when he will have the stamina to run circels around his markers he will cause serious havoc. he presents himself too much to his marker, reciving balls with his back to the DM insted of constantly moving.

next game he should play as SS, he does have the shooting ability, he need more confidance in it.

That's good news, we should give Gio all the minutes he can get when Diego isn't fit, so he can show us what he's made of. He deserves to play again, because that game against Bordeaux was a really hard game for him to shine.

I just hope he manages to play well and be that very important link between our mids and forwards. He needs to show us that he can be a trequartista. The Livorno game, at home, should be the perfect game to boost his confidence.

He will. He knows Diego is recovering and this may be his last start in long time, im sure Gio will give his all, and in that case who are Livorno to stop him?

Gio will do fine. He knows the league and Livorno players well and he will use that to his advantage. I think he will set Serie A on fire but need more time for CL and I think San Ciro knows that.

Get it over with already. What alternative thing? Gio has to take every chance he is given. A sub player takes his chances & shows why he should be starting the next time.

I don't think we'll count on him next season.

He's very talented but he lacks something I'm afraid. So far we just saw his potential, potential and a couple of good games, which is not so promising. Saying he's young (not really comparing but just to mention that both Messi and Aguaro are ~his age) or that he's not getting his chances aren't an excuse either.
It's up to him to prove himself this season because it might be his last chance but so far it doesn't look bright.

Correct, potential is all well and good if you fufill it. Giovinco for Cassano next summer seems like a tempting offer.

That's how it is though, Diego is better than Giovinco. When I said he wasn't impressive in this game, the we-love-Gio-squad said he was doing everything fine and that 'everbody loves Diego now'. The simple fact of the matter is that he is competing with Diego for the trequartista spot. He has to impress when given the chance, especially against a team like Livorno. It's like you can't critize some players, or people will just get offended.

I really like Giovinco, I do, but he HAS to impress in games like this, because he has one hell of a player ahead of him in his position.

It's not about being Italian, it's about being good enough. Gio has loads of potential and talent, but so far he's not good enough for a starting spot in the squad.

For the good of our club, it would be outlandish for Diego to be sat on the bench, when fit.

I hope for his sake that he is not that kind of person. I believe he will take his chances soon. A sub now & then should wake him up. Just like Trez's sub today. It's the kind of sub that says, 'pull up your socks'. I expect him to pull his socks up & work harder next time.
