Scandalo scommesse: la Gazzetta pronostica solo una multa per il Napoli. source: Tuttojuve

What I understand from google translating, Gazzetta predicts Napoli will get away with just a fine for something to do with Sampdoria-Napoli (1-0) of 16 May 2010 and no failure to report charges for Cannavaro and Grava. Can someone please brief the background to this, the charges and the evidence and how it's scandalous.

Gianello, Napoli's backup keeper, admitted that he approached Grava and Cannavaro before a Samp-Napoli game to see if they'd be willing to help fix it.

Grava and Cannavaro refused.

The scandal is that Gianello is not being charged with fixing/attempting to fix and Grava and Cannavaro are not being charged with failure to report.

Why are the authorities only wanting to give Napoli a slap on the wrist with a fine, when they wanted long bans for Conte, Bonucci and Pepe?

:howler:

Cannavaro and Grava can get away with that, but Conte can't?!

The thing that pisses me off THE most, is how NOFUCKINGBODY IS REPORTING THIS SIDE OF THE SCANDAL. ANYWHERE. On the net, in local newspapers, anywhere. Headlines are just "Conte charged etc.". And that's it. No commentary or insights into the discrepancy of it all.

No, because Napoli is the only team, that can challenge us atleast alittle.

And them losing points, makes it more possible for Juve to win the title again, which is something FIGC would do anything to leet that happen.

Reading this sort of shit used to infuriate me, but it just doesn't anymore. This is Italy after all a glorified 3rd world country when it comes to justice.
