..

Marotta was also asked about their search for a striker after a knee injury ruled new arrival Alvaro Morata out for 50 days.

“So far we are satisfied, as we achieved the targets we were aiming for, when it comes to the profile of the player needed.

“We are keeping a close eye on the evolution of the market, though obviously there are many problems with clubs who own the players we are interested in. It changes hour by hour.”

The main name linked with the Bianconeri is Samuel Eto’o, who is a free agent.

“We’ve never talked about Eto’o. The squad needs at least five strikers, so we are missing someone, especially considering Alvaro Morata’s injury.

“Whether the target is Eto’o or someone else, I prefer not to say. As Giovanni Trapattoni said, in this market don’t say cat unless it’s in the bag.

“I can confirm we are looking for another forward.”

Eto'o looks old and washed up... 3.5M salary... wouldn't know how to deal with the bench, can't play together with Tevez and llorente on the same team..

No thanks!

I'm against this rule of Juventus that we can't use youngsters to be the 5th player of the rotation. Specially when one of the 5 is Giovinco and the other had a serious injury. There should opportunities and if the guy is good, he can develop.

So I'd go for a kid like Zaza or Boakye.

Boakye is a kid with a lot of potential. Letting him rot in some shitty La Liga team's bench like Levante or Valladolid or whatever won't help him very much. At the same time, I think he's good enough to fight for a rotation spot for Juventus. He'd come with a salary of less than 1M a year. It's a difference of 6M gross to what Eto'o makes, thus we could have bought back half of him, which was just sold by Genoa for 1.75M to Atalanta.

If we need another squad player for the SS sub role, we should better have kept Vucinic or Quaq...
I agree that we should rather have a youngster instead of a washed up player, our loan/transfer policy ruins our youngsters anyway...

But if the interest for Etoo is real, then it is a just an urgent Morata sub we need...
