As far as i know, the signing on fee wouldnt count on our books.

I am not a finance experd but can anyone confirm this ?
Why wouldn't it?

One advantage is that we wouldn't have to pay taxes as high as if we'd pay the same sum in the form of wages iirc.

People are obviously forgetting that we use a CAM now and all this season Allegri has preferred Vidal there. So we are effectively starting 4 CMs every match.

We definitely need to find more CMs if we intend to go this route with Vidal at CAM.
How about getting a proper CAM then?

That would be my first choice, yes.

I would have went for one before Dybala personally. If we want to continue the 4-3-1-2 then our biggest weakness is obviously the CAM position. Would have addressed that first, hopefully with someone like De Bruyne.

Pirlo will never be a squad player, the guy wants to play. He will leave or he will spend another season as a starter( this better not happen). Khedira in my opinion cant even be compared to pirlo. Different type of players and plus if this guy comess he will know his place and will come to the club knowing he will be a back upp

We gain nothing by replacing him with Khedira. Pirlo is good enough for Serie A, especially as squadplayer with lots of rest.
Except he isnt a direct replacement for Pirlo. We are moving away with the DLP system slowly and Allegri is implanting his own style aka DM flanked by B2B's and an AM upfront.

Not only that, but I think Vidal shines more in a box-to-box role. Man, screw Pirlo. :D

I undestood that. What I'm saying is I feel more confident with Pirlo on the bench than with Khedira. Even if we have to revive DeepLyingPirlo system once in a while.

Come to think of it, Khedira usually does play as a CDM rather than a B2B midfielder, right? In that case, it makes perfect sense to move for him if Pirlo leaves, so he can be a backup for Marchisio for the central position of our 3 CMs.

:agree:

we use 4 CMs at the same time (Pirlo, Marchisio, Pogba, Vidal), we need 4 on the bench (Sturaro, Pereyra, Romulo), without Asamoah who will rotate with Evra if we dont sign anyone else, so we definitely need another one. if we sign a LB, then we dont need anyone. if Pirlo leaves and we dont sign a LB, we would even need 2...

He has excelled more as a B2B but he can play both positions.
