SKY saying he'd accept 3.5 million per year(Same as Pirlo) and that we had a positive meeting with his agents and he's close.
Well thats not a bad deal then.Earlier today i heard he wanted 5m which is a big no-no.Hopefully the signing on fee is less too.

Math is easily done here. I expect a player who is gonna receive the same wages as Pirlo to be as good as Pirlo when he signed the contract. And Khedira is not even in the league of Pirlo so a big NO

Khedira on a free with Pirlo wages isn't something to be laughed at. It's hardly even a gamble. Worst case scenario he has a bad year and we ship his ass out taking a small loss.

Okay Igor, who is available for free and is close to Pirlo's level?

Thats some pretty stupid logic there mate.

He's only bloody 28 and someone with international repute even though he's been mostly irrelevant for a year and a half.

Bloody Iaquinta was on the same wages not so long ago as was Vucinic.

Marchisio, Pogba and Vidal

Sturaro, Asamoah, Pereyra, Padoin

There is literally no reason to pay a benchwarmer Pirlo wages.

Iaquinta wasn't under Marotta rule. And Vucinic saved our asses more often than not

You can't use such a strict criteria in football, so many variables.

If you want numbers to match up then no transfer is ever worth doing because we got Pogba for free, Barzagli for 300k and Vidal for a shade over 10M

3.5M for an experienced German international who would be coming on a free + a small signing fee is a bargain if he recovers well. If not, it's not even a big risk.

But he wouldn't even play, would he? Might as well save the money and move Kwadwo from LB to CM when an injury occurs *knocks on wood*

But he's FREE dammit. Not like we're even paying a transfer fee.Whats not to like ? A fit Khedira could do wonders for our depth.Rather him than having to play Padoin or Romulo in midfield. And there's absolutely no indication that Asamoah will be slotted back to MF either.

Asamoah is a LB these days, and our board and coach clearly think that another CM is needed.

So the question isn't if we should buy another CM or not because it's certain that we will, but who should we get from the options most being mentioned:

- Witsel for 20mln, 3mln wage

- Allan for 18mln, 2mln wage

- Khedira for free, 3.5mln wage

There wil be a juicy hand money under the table we'll learn about later

I'd go for Allan because I'm a fan of longterm solutions rather than one-season patches. Just "loan with an option to buy him" Beppe style e voila --> you added a longterm solution and rejuvenated the squad. And from there, give him the Pereyra treatment.

That seems pretty greedy for a guy who has been irrelevant for 2 years now.
in these 2 years he won the wc and the cl ^^.
in the cl he started the first 4 group games (2 of them against juve), then got injured but was back for the final and started again.
at the wc he started 2 out of 3 group games, the quarter final and the semi final...
you can talk about his wages, performances and injuries all you like but saying that he was irrelevant for the past 2 years is simply ridiculous ^^.

Asamoah will stay at lb and i doubt he will even start next year. When we boucht him it was clear he would never start as a cm cause we had the same cm starting trio as we do now. Get this idea out of your head that asa will start as our cm

People are obviously forgetting that we use a CAM now and all this season Allegri has preferred Vidal there. So we are effectively starting 4 CMs every match.

We definitely need to find more CMs if we intend to go this route with Vidal at CAM.
