You are undervaluing Moscow's quality of life and influence over the entire country. Moscow is Russia, Moskovites will resolve this.
Moskovites can protest all they want, but they are not representative of the entire country. There is always generally a great disparity in political belief between major cities and the rest of the country

It's perfectly vice-versa. The rest of Russia can do whatever they want nothing will change, but Moscow rises and it's over.

How so? Not sure its that simple, especially if it goes against the public's interest. We don't really know what the majority of Russians think of this war, and I don't think interviewing Moskovites or Russian expats in Europe will give you an accurate picture of the feelings over there. Its a big country after all. Moscow protests won't solve anything nor will it scare Putin. The only chance of things changing is if:
A: Putin's circle turns against him
B: He gets assasinated
C: Public support across the country as a whole wanes

Guess what, thanks to Putler. Putin falls, they all fall.
You certainly overestimate Putin's influence in Latin America and especially Venezuela. He has nothing to do with the current regime in Venezuela maintaining power.

And Venezuelans had it really good before they got fucked to this point. One of the richest countries in the region and it still didn't lead to a revolution.

@JuveJay we about to get some pretty Ukrainian neighbours.

In b4 commies start rambling about the West being hypocrites for opening their doors to Ukrainians but not Afghans.
Hey, well at least it isn't those damn Polish, right?

Are you saying sanctions will trigger massive uprising against Putin? I doubt it.
I'm hoping for it. Probably against reality. But if something has to give, that's my top choice.

It's this hubris/delusion that if only people smart like him were in power things would be so much better.
What's really appalling is ...yeah, sure, you're just a TV jockey ... but you're a TV jockey who is supposed to have a clue about foreign policy. :D

I've seen better foreign policy from a 5-year-old in a sandbox.

I’d say an oligarch uprising is more likely, and it’s not even that likely.

Biden is holding the big "state of the Union" speech at 9pm tonight. Wonder if Putin will try to preempt that with a massive attack on Kyiv. Many of their attacks are occurring early morning in Ukraine, like 4 or 5am.
