Inflation isn't tied to any one thing, it's a symptom of large macro and microeconomic issues. Financial markets are a large cause, housing is a cause, energy in all forms is a cause. Do they get Russian Oil and refine their own gasoline and diesel? Do they import that as well? Is the demand for fuel a component to the food production? As fuel prices go up, so does the cost of harvesting grain to make bread, to harvest potatoes. Fuel is a large component of everything and it goes down the line to the consumer. One percent increase in fuel costs can contribute five or ten percent of finished product cost. Trains, trucks, tractors, combines, mining equipment, busses, houses all run on fuel. Natural Gas is only a small component of "energy" as a whole.
