I'm wondering what Allegri see's in Khedira that we don't. There must be something, such as tactical awareness, reading of the game, getting in to good positions, something?

its simple. Marchisio isnt 100% yet and Bentancur is a 19 yo thats also not a b2b mid (even with Marchisio he played as the DM today). if Marchisio was his 2014-2016 version, he would play nearly every game obviously, but hes not on that level yet (physically), and Khedira is our only other b2b mid, excluding Sturaro. so simply put, you either play 4231 and bench Khedira for Pjanic-Matuidi, or you stick with the 433 and use him at RCM, atleast for the time Marchisio ups his fitness level, or we sign a class b2b CM in January

are you stupid, serious question? how does one not understand a simple statement - Marchisio CANT play week in week out, hes not in the PHYSICAL condition to do so. and you want Bentancur to play over Khedira but you just yourself admit he played DM even with Marchisio on the pitch, so its obvious what role Allegri prefers him in

and no, Bentancur doeent offer near the off ball movement Khedira does. he will just get in Pjanics way and provide no spacing around him. he wont push the other team back because they wont respect his aerial presence attacking the box. so no, he cant fill in any role in midfield

he might be very important in moving the ball towards the strikers. look at the napoli game: khedira was subbed out in the 67th minute. dybala took a corner a couple of minutes later, then disappeared until the end of the match. here's dybala's touches from the 69th minute until the end of the game against napoli.

Marchisio was WC & arguably the best in the world as regista before he got injured.

Bentancur apparently was just alright playing as regista in Argentina. Did better when they switched him to B2B.
