I think his dad was just expressing his opinion boys not sure how much we should read into this
Well nothing is 100 percent until its signed on paper. There's a lot of evidence to suggest we are probably number 1 out of any club to win his signature. We need a world class forward, we have been linked with Rvp in the past and apparently showed interest in him( therefore he would respect us a little bit more then clubs that have just been interested in him due to this seasons form). His dad did not say we were out of the running in that statement he made, giving hints he has not out ruled Juve. He said " I want too win the champions league after the Euros" in a receant interview. Agnelli has said that he would like to see Juve win the champions league next season ergo Rvp could have been dropping a hint. Barca,Madrid,City allready have top class forwards and Rvp would not necessarily be the number 1 target man at those clubs something he would be at Juventus. Arsenal have a strict over 30's policy and are tight asses when it comes to wages. He is not English so maybe he would prefer the Italian culture to the English and not feel it is his "national duty " to stay at Arsenal. He is approaching the twilight of his career and is currently peaking he knows that Juventus are a club on the up and Arsenal's project is failing due to their boards inability to bring in re-inforcements and give their more well known players pay rises(Their board is fine with it because their making money and Arsenal has become too much of a profit club and not enough of a trophy chasing club in my opinion) Also Arsenal is sponsored by Nike as well as Juventus which would please their company

Van Persie would be perfect for Juve, ability wise. But when you consider his age, injury and his salary, Cavani will be the safer bet.

For those who want the interview with his father, Bob.

Also RVP has apparently visited Turin multiple times to check the facilities etc... And agents have already spoken to Marotta and co multiple times, even with RVPs family present.

injury is the most worrying thing, age? not so much, look at pirlo, he's 33 and we are still going to depend on him next season, risky? yes, but still better than relying on poulsen, pazienza and the likes, same thing with the forward situation...

It's more of a risk signing average strikers then getting world class strikers with big salaries and transfer fees because you haveto buy 2-3 average players to try and make up for 1 which costs more then actually getting 1 world class striker anyway.

Ok so we can now pretty much establish Rvp is now either staying at Arsenal or coming to Juve. It might boil down to who can offer him a bigger contract. We are more willing to spend then Arsenal but they are the 3rd richest club in the world. let's wait and see
Arsenal or Inter, since we cant afford his salary...

And why would Inter afford his salary? Heck or before that, his transfer fee? You do realize we are in a better financial health then them?

Inters star signing is meant to be Lucas Moura anyway and he probably will end up at madrid to warm the bench for 2 seasons and then move to 1 of the milan clubs at a cut price dead when they can actually afford him

How much do you personally think we can afford to spend on him then? He is 28 now, turning 29 in August.. I do like RVP and his qualities are obvious but to spend a lot of money on a player that old - we're not Merda..

Are you claiming that our budget can afford biger salaries than Inter and Milan?
Have you checked any numbers, cause last time i checked they and Milan had a much bigger financial surface than we did.
And the current rosters also speak for themselves. Did anything change so dramatically (In Platini's rules or smth else?)

I think we should pay what ever we haveto for him. Reason being; if we don't sign a "world class striker"(higuain, rvp, cavani) we will do a Secco all over again and try and buy 2-3 average/young players that cost more then 1 world class player all together and actually spend more and have less quality. We should splash heaps of cash on a second striker as well( Jovetic or Suarez) even if this costs us 60 million+ for a top striker and top second striker and we add a left back, asamoah and isla+ 1 or 2 squad signings which would cost us around 100 million and not buy a single player next season it will be worth it because the team will be complete anyway. I just don't see the point in getting for example damaio, gabbiadini and giovinco which will cost the same or possibly more then rvp+suarez. and have less quality. Quality before Quantity. Also I have a feeling fiorentina, liverpool even arsenal can take some dead wood off us elia, krasic, melo etc which would ease the wage bill
