you mean Pjanic or matuidi? Maybe the current crop should compete for it.
I mean our central midfield hasnt been good enough for years (at least 3) and once again our funds went elsewhere, the only significant investment in Arthur was actually a swap with Pjanic, while we happily invested in bench striker and a winger. I'd have preferred if we signed a truly WC player in midfield with the funds we used on McKennie, Chiesa and Morata. Right now we have 5 mids in Arthur, Bentancur, Rabiot, Ramsey and McKennie who are all good and in form might be borderline great. But none of those guys is WC, those guys mostly play in Spain and England.

I’m really happy with this mercato. New chapter begins. Not only the players but I also like the gamble with Pirlo and our old fitness coach back will hopefully bring some stability back both on tactical as on fitness levels as they have been below a acceptable level for some years.

I feel confident that Chiesa, Kulusevski and Arthur will do good. McKennie is a low risk gamble and I think that we’ll use Morata to save us some time before seriously investing in a striker.

Almost the complete shitshow of jabroni’s out, wouldn’t surprise me if we save ~50m in gross wages this year.

Solid 8 if the new players and Pirlo live up to the expectations.

Very good Mercato. We got rid of the oldies and brought in fresh young blood. Although we didn't solve the LWB issue (someone to compete with Sandro) I'd still give it a 9.

Well done.

Much better than i expected. It was looking quite dark only a month ago with Higuain in doubt of leaving, and the whole Khedira mess. Didnt expect anything more to happen tbh.

My review of the players brought in:

- Chiesa: interesting in various ways as it gives us more options and flex. He has talent, only doubt is if he can adapt. Bernardeschi could not, but they are not similar at all apart from coming from the same club. The transfer fee might be a bit high but only time will tell.

- Morata: meh to me, but i guess a lot of people like him here and boosts morale somehow. Decent depth to have tho.

- Arthur is a tremendous signing and very underrated by a lot of people. I have no doubts he will slot right in. Our best transfer this mercato and a scoop.

- Kulusevski: Another talented player with a lot of upside. Good investment.

- McBurger: very unfinished and rough talent. Can only improve. But i like his effort. Might turn out to be a good player for us and might not. Minimal risk involved anyways.

Positives:

- Even with COVID and the financial difficulties, we still managed to strengthen the squad.

- Didnt sell Dybala or any of our most valued players and kept the core of the squad intact.

- Got rid of Higuain, Matuidi etc.

- Continued to "rebuild" the squad towards younger, and improved the overall average age of the team.

Negatives:

- Gosens or another LB should have been targeted. Didnt solve that issue and still remains an area of uncertainty.

- Still Deadwood present at the club with no real purpose for us (Khedira situation, De Sciglio, Rugani and Costa. Seems like Rugani and De sciglio will leave tho)

- Signed Morata and gambled on him reproducing like he did last time he was a juve player. A transfer with a lot of sentiment involved rather than actual recent form or success to show.

Summary:

Not sure about our plusvalenza situation and financial overview, but hopefully its not too bad. Maybe Satch can fill me in? (still dont know how to tag members here, embarassing).

Anyways, all in all a good rebuilding mercato. Could have been a bit better with some adjustments, but its still strong and going in the right direction.

So pretty happy with the mercato and very excited for this season!

Some good riddances and nice additions like McKenny or Chiesa. No outstanding signings that make your head turn. No losses of key players either. Better than most if not all post 2015 summers

I thinks it's more than a solid mercato, we rejuvenated team, added some hot prospects and we are looking more athletic.

The biggest downside were sales, we couldn't rid of many players and I'm pretty sure they will return and we'll have the same problem next year.

One of the most disappointing mercatos imo.

Thats a bit unfair to say, I mean compare.our mercato to some of the big clubs, who did madrid buy? Barca didn't exactly do much, man utd was a shit show of panic at the last minute, Chelsea for all they spent havent got much to show for it at the moment. We've done well considering the circumstances, the pjanic swap was absolutely brilliant, the out goings were damage control. Hopefully players like rugani and costa will prove their worth elsewhere and attract attention next season when I hope clubs will have more to spend. It could have been a lot worse, we met our targets of slashing wages and bringing the average age down, Paratici and Co should be commended. Now its down to Pirlo to work his magic on the field

7.5/10 for me.

+ Vastly reduced the age of the squad
+ Got the wage bill down and almost got rid of all liability players
+ New signings have athleticism and energy which will be important in an inevitably congested fixture list
+ Didn't sell a star player despite financial pressure

- Morata doesn't convince me, even if he'll probably be a Ronaldo foil mostly
- Light in the flank areas, despite the possibility that Pirlo has plans to use people like Chiesa and Berna in those areas

The good:
- Kulusevski, one of the brighest stars in Europe, just turned 20.
- Arthur-Pjanic swap was amazing business
- Morata could finally be Ronaldo's new Benzema that we've been searching for, has all the characteristics.
- Lowering the age

The bad:
- Chiesa signing, don't think he's worth that fee, no natural fit and becomes very redundant
- Didn't generate a single € this summer even though 7-8 players left. How? Loaning players out is just pushing the issues a year forward.
- Guys like Cristian Romero, Rugani, Pellegrini, Bernardeschi and Douglas Costa still young and have good value. Should have been sold.
- Still massive issues in the wingback position

I think they've done a stellar job, all things considered. Very difficult times, with the uncertainty that Covid brings, not to mention its impact on our coffers. Deducting a little bit for the fact that we didn't sign a proper left back, but other than that I really don't see where this mercato could've been improved. Looking at other clubs across Europe, it's safe to say that Juve have had one of the best mercatos. Only beaten out by Chelsea, imo, but they were in a special situation coming off a transfer embargo, meaning that they could splurge.

Under normal circumstances I would've given this mercato a lesser rating, but considering the circumstances I am giving it a 9.

We're rating it and not comparing to others. I'm not even saying other clubs did brilliant (some might have).

IMO it's lots of "promising" talent and huge question marks. Not just that but we're actually relying on them to shine otherwise we're gonna be in a huge trouble.

One of the best mercatos ever considering the fact that we needed to bring young players and gradually shift out the old guard out. This has been monumental achievement by Paratici to undo the transfer blunders committed by Marotta and without any transfer budget. The only shortcoming is a dynamic midfielder like Pogba or SMS which will make our team even stronger.Hats off to Paratici what a job you have done.

We are relying on them to build a new winning cycle which was in dire need of rejuvenation. We can't buy established champions, it was no longer viable. I think we've bought extremely well, any talent will bring question marks but we've got pace and power back in this team unlike last season and for that reason im quietly optimistic. Compare those who have left to those who have arrived, pound for pound it's an upgrade.

Douglas costa is not young, he's 30 and injury prone, next to no value.

5/10 for me. Could very easily turn out to be a 10/10, but we haven't signed any players that I'm convinced will be a success here. Honestly we're left with hoping that Ramsey doesn't fall apart for large spells of next season.
