Krasic was a good signing, loaning Aquilani can be useful. Bonucci i believe is a big upgrade over what Juve had. Pepe, Martinez, Traore are poor signings imo and Juventus should have done better. Quag could potentially be a decent signing.

Selling Diego and not adequately replacing him was a very bad move too.

If there was 2.5 i would have given it, but there isn't, so i'm inclined to give a 2.

Edited.

Not a huge fan, I like him but it doesn't change anything. Terrible mercato.
Okay. From what I've seen of him, his understanding with Bonucci couldn't be worse. And defensively, I do worry.

About rating our mercato, I couldn't. Sort of pointless when I haven't seen the team properly.

I'm gonna give this a 3\5. We upgraded some defensive positions with Motta and Bonucci, and midfield with Krasic and Aquilani. The rest of the signings along with the departures are what concerns me the most. Pepe, Martinez, Quagi and Lanza are not very good transfers, which huge questions marks lingering over the price of Quagi and Martinez.

The biggest failure was to not upgrade the strikers position and leaving it too late to even start with it. They should've bought Krasic earlier and ended the debate of him over Dzeko, and then focused on other strikers during weeks 1-3 of August.

As for the departures, it was obvious that with so many players coming in, we'd have to let of some veterans. It was hard to Trez and Camo go, but it was inevitable. Diego's sale would've been acceptable with a higher price, but 15m was a bad deal.

Second worst to 2007 campaign which we bough Tiago, Almiron, Andrade and Molinaro. So much spending but pretty much nothing in return. Many strange and questionable decisions.

Storari: He is good back up but paying 4.5 million € for a 33 years old was a luxury considering that we're giving our champions for free. Manninger should have been sold after his arrival.

Motta: Good move. He was best alternative for that price.

Bonuci: Another good move but overpaid. We sold Criscito's half for 6. Bonucci showed nothing to be considered more expensive than Criscito so far.

Martinez: Terrible signing. Not only because his questionable skill but for that price we should have done much better. Unnecessary spending was last thing we need.

Pepe: Some are applauding him because he is a hard worker but he lack something vital for his position. Ball skill.

Krasic: I am hopeful about this deal. But again we overpaid a bit. He is no better than Mesut Özil who worth same price.

Aquilani: Good acquisition. We needed someone like him in midfield.

Quagliarella: He is not that bad but do we need him is another question. 4.5 million for loan deal was too much.

Traoré: Very unconvincing. If what Fred said is true i would prefer Emiliano Insua from Liverpool.

    Rinaudo: Stendardo

    Other retard moves

Trying to bring Di Natale for 7 million €: This alone shows how Marotta lost it. Pathetic attempt to fill Diego's role. Imagine if we bought this guy, our upfront would be Del Piero - Di Natale against Bari.

Trying to bring Borriello and Kaladze: Sponsoring Ibrahimovic and Robinho deals for Milan is always good for Italian football.

Selling Diego for peanuts without taking Dzeko in return: I was never fan of Diego but Marotta owned by Wolfsburg here.

Finishing Giovinco's career at Juve: Worst move of the summer. We lost most important part of so called ''Future Project''. This guy could succeed Del Piero after his retirement. Look at what we got in return. Davide Lanzafame.

Those i consider worthless, Grosso, Salihamidzic and Iaquinta are still in squad. We should have kept Trezeguet and sold Iaquinta instead of sending him to Hercules and still paying his wages.

Selling Poulsen and bringing some talents:tup:

I give them a 10 for selling Poulsen and his wages. Unemployment in the United States sunk to their lowest numbers in 25 years upon his sale and removal of his wages from the payroll

Decent mercato otherwise but destroying our attack by giving away Gio/Diego/Trez and only getting Quag was horrible. I'll give it a 2

When I see Buck Fuddy's avatar, I always remember PES phrase "Don't need to push panic button just yet"

And guys, whatever you say, we surely not overspending on wages

if we kept diego and didn't sign martinez i gave it a 10. now it's a 1 because i don't see us creating big chances.

    2/5.

Storari, Bonucci, Motta, Krasic and Aquilani were all good signings.

Quagliarella and Pepe can prove to be decent signings for us, for both depth and tactical reasons.

Martinez, Lanzafame and Traore are the question marks of our mercato. Martinez wasn't bought for a cheap price, which plays the big factor in his transfer. The fact that he was bought to play as a winger give me doubts as well, as he never played that role with Catania. Can be a good backup as a SS, but at 12M? Traore is cheap, and mediocre. Lanzafame too.

Letting Diego go didn't upset me much, the fact we didn't brought a better player did though.

Why is it so bad though?

You guys all wished for the following positions to be filled: LB, RB, CB, RM, LM, CM(after poulsen)

RB: Motta (Good, considering many of you rated him highly)
CB: Bonucci: Great buy and you know it.
CB: Sorensen? No Idea who the hell that is, sorry
LB: Traore: Someone fast to add pace on the left, young, and hopefully better than DC.
RM: Krasic (Good, again someone everyone wanted)
LM: Pepe (Decent, not great but consistently above average and has done well)
CM: Aquilani (You all wanted a non destroyer and someone that can pass, here he is)
SS: Martinez...:shifty: Let's just wait and see.

    Additional:
Diego gone as result of our system and a guy that knows the league brought in..Quag. We will see how he does, I will wait to see his performances in the next few games before I judge. I will miss Diego.

We signed: Motta, Traore, Krasic, Pepe, Lanzafame, Aquilani, Quag, Martinez, Bonucci, Sorensen?, Rinaudo, and I'm forgetting someone else.

We fixed some major problems and probably started some others. Not getting a striker will come back to haunt us this I promise you.

    2 for me.

The team/squad is weaker on paper than it was a year ago.

The team may do better, due to improved organsation, but it is sadly lacking in quality players who can make a difference.

Goalkeepers: Better than last year. Storari and Manninger are great back ups.

Defense: Better than last year. Motta is a very good signing, Bonucci impressed me every time I saw him (great ball skills), Rinaudo is a nobody and I can't tell much about Traore. Still, we are missing a good back up on the flanks and the center.

Midfield: Worse than last year. We've lost Poulsen, Diego, Gio and Camo, and replaced them with Pepe, Lanzafame, Martinez, Aquilani and Krasic. Aqua won't play much (I am sure about that), Krasic is good, but not a Diego and the rest is mediocore.... Shoot me!

Forwards: Worse. 4 strikers, no finisher, we are fu*ked in this department.

All in all, not the mercato we needed. We replaced nearly all our players with worse players and are finally a mid table club. Say goodbye to CL football for at least 3 years, as it will take some time to clean the mess that was produced in the last 2 months.
